Balmy, frosty, morning ....

31st January (Thursday) .... 09.00    At this time we have a balmy  sunny
Brighton ... the skinny pole has a viewing gondola that goes up and down the 'pole'.
Sussex;   unfortunately, if the weather forecast is correct, all that will change by evening time.... with a spell of wintry weather;  including snow.
Jenny is coming over (from Battle) to pick up ‘JB’ and me,  and the three of us are going down to Brighton.   I’m thinkin’ that we’ll need to keep an eye on the weather.

20.30      We had a braw run to Brighton and Hove.... but parking is not easy to find..... however we did eventually find a space and ‘JB’ was able to get measured for his suit;  which was the main reason going to Hove.  Jenny then took us the coast road to the restaurant atop Beachy Head where we had lunch.   The restaurant was busier than I expected for this time of year;  the food was excellent.

The 'donut' viewing platform.
From Beachy Head we went to the best Ice Cream shop in Eastbourne for sweet.    There was a huge range of ice creams to choose from, and we each had a different one.     Mmmmmm .... I can’t remember the name of the one  I had, but it was delicious.    We came back to “No 1” via ASDA where ‘JB’ wanted to do some shopping.    Having been in both Brighton and Eastbourne today I have come to the conclusion that Eastbourne  is ‘nicer’ than Brighton .... Eastbourne comes across as being more sedate and genteel.

The bad weather that has been forecast has yet to reach Uckfield, but it is ‘on its way’ according to the weather forecasters.     Folk in the Southeast have been advised to be home by 21.00 in case they get caught out.

i21.15    The forecasters were right on the mark;  snow started falling on Uckfield at almost ‘iggzactly’ 21.00.    We could wake up to a white, and hopefully, sunny Sussex.... and chaos on the roads.
