Hmmmm .... very windy


24th March 2019 (Sunday) .... 09.00     there’s a frisky wind this morning,
Frisky clouds over Kinneuchar.
and it’s a cold one; furthermore, there are a lot of ragged clouds being blown over and some of them look heavy enough to give us a shower.   However, I’m feeling positive;  so ‘positive that I have a jersey out on the line!
I’ve been out in the car.... and it is a good morning for going out for a walk up Balcarres Den ... or some other walk that’s out of the wind.    I’ll plan some activity after I’ve had breakfast.

16.00     We’ve been lucky with the showers;  only catching the edge of a couple of them..... with insignificant wetness, so the jersey I hung out is near enough dry.
 I went up to Balcarres in the afternoon and, parking the car off the road, I walked down the Balniel road to the bridge over the Den Burn, where I had a bumble around in the woods by the burn.    I have to take my stick with me for the rough paths etc.   It was windy out in the open but once in the wood it was warm.... and there was a feel of Spring in the air, which,  along with the sound of the burn was very enjoyable and calming;  I wish I’d taken a picnic with me.

beginning of a new week.   It’s forecast to be less windy (and therefore warmer) tomorrow;   I might do some work in the garden if it feels like Spring .... there’s certainly plenty needing done;  and the ‘broon’ bucket is empty!    
  The ‘plan’ is to get ‘up’ with ‘Wallace and Gromit’ in the morning and bumble down to the beach to catch sunrise.    When I think about it  I haven’t been down to the beach today .... I haven’t spoken to anyone;  should I be feeling lonely ?   I’m not.  I have been ‘out’ on and off most of the day.... and I feel tired, and content, but not lonely.    I must remember to take a ‘bite to eat’, and a flask of coffee with me when I go out;  it’s warm enough to have a picnic .... when out of the wind.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa

Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I
