Thick fog

7th February 2017 (Tuesday) ... 09.30      We woke up to thick fog,  however it is beginning to lift and it should be ‘bright and sunny’ by midday.   Janice
Original Uckfield Bank building.
and Michael are off down to Eastbourne;   I’m going down town to find a pet shop that stocks dawg shampoo .... after that I’ll go to the Civic Centre for a morning cuppa to celebrate finding, and buying, the aforementioned shampoo.    Must ‘go’ .... “slight flap on”.... the kettle has reached ‘boiling point’.

23.00    “Dawg shampoo?” ...... dogs, bless their hairiness, have as much choice when it comes to shampoo’s, as we humans do;    this meant that, with me not being the fastest thinker on the block, when it comes to “dawg shampoo”, this complicated things just a little.    I finally settled for the shampoo that had a picture of a ‘Westie’ on the label!     The pet shop, “Paws and Claws” is situated in a quiet corner, of f Uckfield High Street.... along with  two ‘new’ coffee shops;  there are probably other ‘shops’... but I didn’t see them!

Smokehouse and Lodge.
By the time I began the walk up the hill the sun had burnt off the fog, and it was warm .... far too hot to enjoy walking up that hill!    From the bottom of Uckfield to “N0 1” is all uphill, and I’m sure that there’s some seismic movement happening because the hill seemed steeper today!     I spent most of the afternoon asleep in ‘The Sunhouse’.
Michael and Janice arrived back from Eastbourne bearing gifts ..... “Gregg’s” Fudge Doughnuts!      Not quite the same as “Fisher and Donaldson’s” but very tasty.... very tasty indeed!     There isn’t a “Gregg’s” in Uckfield:   which is, perhaps, just as well!
The “News” has been concentrating on the problems with the NHS... and how our Health Service can’t cope as well as our European neighbours do in winter.    Our European neighbours don’t waste their money on extremely expensive ‘dreams’ such as
Barber Shop.
Trident, and can therefore afford to spend money where its needed!     Yes there would be jobs lost if we scrapped Trident .... but with the money saved we could create useful jobs that would benefit the whole population.... such as a proper ‘Care’ system... and hospital beds with Doctors and Nurses to man them!    Moan over .... but I enjoyed it!

The weather forecast for tomorrow is overcast with the chance of showers early, then brighter in the afternoon.
