Overcast with rain 'on and off' .....

26th February 2017 (Sunday) .....  09.00    My ‘plan’ for this morning was to walk up to Kinneuchar Kirk;  the idea being to combine physical well
Kilconquhar Church.
being with spiritual well being, however it’s raining so the physical well being will have to wait until after lunch.   There was a red sky sunrise this morning ....  not a good sign.   

I’m in ‘mild flap on’ state ....  a cuppa  is required, after which I’ll get myself into gear, and organised.
21.00     Kinneuchar kirk was well crowded today;  with a lot of strangers in the congregation.... of course that could be because I haven’t been at the kirk for a while!     The photograph I’ve uploaded to ‘The Hutte’  doesn’t really show the number of people  at the actual ‘service’:   the photo was taken after the service.... when many of the congregation had meandered, either off home, or through to the ‘coffee hall’.    It was an enjoyable service, and the sermon, about Antioch (Syria) was interesting:  Antioch was where the word ‘Christian’ first came into use    That bit I found fascinating... since then I’ve “Googled” it, and the history of the city is really

interesting:  it’s not that far from the modern, and infamous “Aleppo”. 
  
The weather has never been ‘bonnie’ today;   I believe the best of it was when we were in the kirk.    Oh, that reminds me ... I’ve got to tell you;   a gentleman who was sharing ‘my’ pew, gave the hymns ‘laldie’ .... he was a real singer.... and one of the ‘strangers’.    I hope the folks in front didn’t think it was me;  they’d want me in the choir it they did!

There was ‘coffee after the service’;   which I forced myself to get involved with..... it’s always a good time for a natter, and for me to catch up with all that’s been going on while I was down in “Sunny Sussex”.

touch of frost in the morning.    The best weather tomorrow is going to be in the morning so I’m going out for a pre breakfast walk over to West Bay.    I always carry ‘emergency rations’ with me, .... just in case I get distracted.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Quiet morning ....

 5th October 2023 (Thursday)     09.30.... The crock pot has been fired up with a batch o’ Scotch Broth, George’s bucket has been put out for tomorrow morning....I have had breakfast, and now on my third cuppa of the morning; hoping for a stress free day.   The past two days were not stress free. Yesterday began really well.... I got the car insurance sorted, and was   settling down to check FB.    I saw a photograph captioned ‘Seal on a floe .... or was it?’   Being inquisitive I ‘clicked’ on it;   and that   was it .... flashing warnings all over the computer screen.     I’d been hacked.   A small window appeared purporting to be from Microsoft Security so I clicked on that and got an 0800 number to phone;    which I did and was answered by an Indian.     That’s when I should have pulled the plug on the computer.    However, h e as very   plausible so I began to follow his instructions for a few minutes... then  began to get suspicious;   especially when he began to insist that I

Warm and damp ....

4th October 2023 (Wednesday)     08.00 .... there’s been light rain overnight and the forecast is ‘strong winds and rain’, but it’s not raining at the moment.... and it’s warm.   I think I’ll go for the paper (on the bike) before rain arrives.... the wind freshens.  Slight ‘flap on’. 09.30 .... Go out before the wind freshened?.... it was already F6 (at the Breakwater) when I was out.   Guess who didn’t go down to the harbour!   That said even at the Breakwater the wind was warm.   I didn’t stop at the Breakwater, in fact I couldn’t stop.... the wind blew me half way along South Street and I was up on The Terrace in ‘nae time’.     I managed to stop, at my usual place, and take a few photos before heading for the shelter of the High Street... and the ‘paper shop’.    The streets were quiet and I thought about going up to Chapel Green but decided give CG a miss today.....   and have drawing day. 22.45    My computer was  hacked this morning and I am going to use the wee laptop until Ia
