Dreich morning ..... travelling to Fife.

11th August 2016 (Thursday) .... 08.30     Hmmmmm .... we have a dreich morning;  low cloud and rain .... a good enough day for travelling, not too bright!    I think we’ll go down via the A90 in spite of the road works;   the scenic route won’t be
"Alice Joan" at Stracathro Transport Cafe
very scenic this morning.     The weather should improve south of Aberdeen.

21.30     The journey down from Auchnagatt was wet for the first part  .... until Stonehaven .... then dry(ish) from there.    I managed to poodle my way through Aberdeen ‘nae bother’ because Anderson Drive was, by its standards, very quiet.   When we got beyond Stonehaven we could see that the top of the Cairn o’ Mount road was still under clouds even though we could see most of the hill.
We stopped at the Transport Cafe, at Stracathro for an ‘all day breakfast’, having arrived just too early for lunch.   “Alice Joan”, one of Eddie Stobart’s vehicles was in the Car Park and ‘she’ was being well photographed.    The Transport Cafe food is ‘basic’, and there’s always plenty of it.    ‘M’ didn’t like the haggis because it was hard.... having been kept warm since it was cooked;   it was also the last piece of haggis in the dish.
Our next stop was at Tesco’s (Cupar) for milk and bread;  this stop was quickly followed by another .... this time at the ‘Fudge Doughnut’ factory, where we had coffee
'M'... looking cold  on the beach
and cake in the cafe;  and bought three FD’s.   This was our last coffee stop of the day, and we arrived at Ivy about 14.30.
It didn’t take long to get ‘Sooper Buggy’ unpacked, and ‘moored up’ round the corner.   By now I was in a state of excitement, being so close to ‘my’ beach, so we, ‘M’ and I, had to go down there to check it out.     ‘M’ thought it was cold;   of course I told her that it couldn’t be because it was still summer!    I switched the central heating ‘on’ when we got back to Ivy .... and had a cuppa.
Jimmy has got himself a new addition to his i-pad;   a Flash Drive with a load of  photos on it.    He is pleased with this, because he can browse all the pictures we took
The beach this afternoon
when out and about on the bike, and on foot, for the past 8 years.    We had a cuppa ..... and ate the aforementioned FD’s at this time.
Tomorrows weather is forecast to be ‘cloudy but mostly dry’ .... perfect summer weather.
