Low cloud ....

 19th August 2025 (Tuesday)    09.45 .... I must have been really tired last night;  I didn't wake up

until 08.25.    I feel perkier, almost playful in fact, but this is going to be a 'rest day'.    It's a nice morning albeit cloudy with a cool ENE breeze.  It might not be hot in the afternoon... not as hot as recent afternoon's have been anyway.   Havin' said that;  if the sun burns the cloud off, I suspect that it well be hot on the patio..... the sky looks like it's brightening up.

19.30    With the wind being from the North east there has been a noticeable drop in temperature.   That said it the patio thermometer got up to 20.4C  in the afternoon.   But that is sheltered from most winds.... due North being the direction that gets right in to it.

I've been feeling lethargic all day;  sort of chasing my own tail most of the time.   I made 'sausages and mash' one of my favourites for lunch;  which I enjoyed, but ate without much enthusiasm.  I'll have a Janice Toddie at bedtime;  I normally wake up ravishingly hungry after a 'JT'.   It isn't the 'bug' season  yet so I'm blaming the change in the weather for this.

This hasn't been a totally wasted day.   I did the ironing in the afternoon, put the table away;  then discovered that I'd forgotten to iron the downie cover!  I'm going to be a naughty boy, and forget about ironing it this time!  Knowing me I'll probably feel guilty an no' be able to sleep!  What will be the first thing I do tomorrow morning?....  iron the pillow cases!

Later in the afternoon I ventured out for a short walk.  Actually it was a  very short  walk .... only as far as the Ferry Corner.   As you can see from today's photographs.

22.30    It has been  a strange old day for me;  but, so that I could sleep well tonight I ironed the pillow cases.   
Tomorrow? ..... I have to make up Iain's bed and tear roond wi' the 'oover.   Might even do a spot o' dustin'.    My feather duster is moulting but there are enough feathers attached to the end o' the stick to call it a 'feather duster'.

The weather is going to be brighter tomorrow, (sunny intervals) but the temperature will be about the
same as it was today.   I'm feeling mair playful tonight;  so could be a bit more active tomorrow.   Might get 'out to play' at some point.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
