Lovely morning ....
13th August 2025 (Wednesday) 08.45 .... I decided to get 'up' and out (in the car) before 06.00
this morning, to go to the harbour and get a few early morning photographs before it becomes too hot and humid. There is a touch of 'autumnal mists' this morning, not unexpected at this time of the year.. What I wanted was reflections; and, with hardly any breeze, the tide in, and calm water .... I got reflections. There was another surprise; 'His Nibs' (heron) posing on Apple Rock. It was a good morrrrrrrrning for the camera.20.30 This has been the hottest day so far, 28.3C on the patio thermometer. The patio is a suntrap but it was unbearable in the middle of the afternoon. I went out to check the thermometer, because it was warn even inside. I'd left the back door open so the heat was coming in!
I've been tidying up outside (in the morning and later in the afternoon. Apart from sweeping the leaves off the steps and dumping them in the bucket,, I didn't do anymore pruning to the ivy. All the paint sheets have been folded and put away; as is the cover I used for the scooter, before it got it's ''shed'.
The time for me to go out on The Buggy is first thing in the morning; as I did with the car this morning. The buggy has a range of 32 miles on a full battery, which takes in all the places I want to go. Kinneuchar being the furthest: and always have coffee with Shona in Kinneuchar.
22.00 There's a slight chance of showers overnight, and, as there's a Yellow Warning effective from midnight to 22.00 tomorrow, for thunder, the showers could be heavy. I watered the tubs earlier so don't need any showers!
It's forecast to be another 'hot and humid' afternoon tomorrow; this suggest that tonight could be another restless night because of the heat. Don't get me wrong; I'm enjoying the good weather, but it's just too hot, for this 'mature' person.
It was peaceful at the harbour this morning. 'His Nibs' was at peace with the world, and there was aflock of migrating swallows feeding over the harbour. Migrating south in this weather? Not the best 'plan' with all the wild fires on the continent. The photo on the right shows a few of them resting on 'Doubloon'.
I got the bike out in the evening, only to discover that the battery needs to be charged. That will be done sometime tomorrow. afternoon.
