Low cloud ....

1st August 2025 (Friday)     07.45 .... This is not 'iggzactly' the weather that I wanted this

morning, but at least the rain moved away overnight;  and the forecast is ''good'.... being "sunny intervals with a light breeze".   I have towels going through the machine, and would like to have a friskier breeze to dry them!    At present the breeze is from the NW, veering to the SE in the afternoon;  with a touch of  autumn in the air.

08.45   According to the calendar, this is a Bank Holiday weekend (Monday) in Scotland and the ROI (Republic of Ireland);  so this could be a busy weekend.   Especially if the weather is fine.  

 I've already been busy today, with the first batch of washing on the line:  and waiting for the 'sunny intervals' to arrive, to give us a good 'drying day' (at the moment it's not quite at the 'drying day' stage).

19.00   The towels dried, even though it didn't appear to be a great 'drying day'.    Tomorrow will be a bedding washing day.   

I took time out from 'ousework, to go to the bottle bank at Woodhaven;  where I took today's photos from.   I went to the bottle bank a bit later than I did the last time.   The last time I was there I went about 07.45;   I doubt if I was very popular!   Anyway it was after 09.00 before I went to Woodhaven this morning.

I had a run round the villages when I was out and noticed that both villages  were short of parking places.  August is usually the busiest month right enough.    Monday is a Bank holiday but the weather forecast isn't great for Monday;  a Yellow Warning for gale force winds  with a good chance of showers.    It's hard to know if this is the last of the Atlantic storms of the winter past.... or the first of the Winter to come.   Monday could be an interesting day for the camera.   

22.30    I've been watching "Gone",  filmed in New Zealand.   It's great seeing roads that I've been on,

and seeing New Zealand scenery again.   Anyway it's bedtime now so I'll make the 'orlicks and have a look at the News.

Tomorrow is going to be sunny, and probably hot in the afternoon;  but will be a great day for doing the bedding.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...

Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...
