Light cloud .....

18th August 2025 (Monday)   08.00 .... It's hard to believe but it's 16 years ago, on this

date, that Maggie died.   
I'm still blundering around:  she is still 'The Boss'... and I still try to iron everything the way she did it;  aye, even the downie covers.

We have a nice, quiet  morning at Elie and Earlsferry;  there's light cloud  off the North Sea  just now, but that could burn off, to give us sunny spells in the afternoon.

19.30   Methil was basking in sunshine when I got there this morning, and was sunny and warm all the time I was there.  After our morning cuppa,  Alice and I went to Sainsbury's to do the shopping.   By Sainsbury's standards the shop was quieter than usual.   We met Honor and Jock on the way round, and caught up with the 'News' from the Elie end of 'Elie and Earlsferry (Royal burgh of).   All is good at Stenton Row.   We chatted for a few minits then went on our separate ways round the aisles.

With Iain coming down on Thursday I did a fairly big 'shopping';  but no  .... hardly any goodies as Iain is on a diet.
Back at Alice's we had an excellent chicken casserole lunch with trimmings and new little tautties.   This was followed by an healthy Alice concoction consisting of loads of fruit chopped intae wee bits with a peach sauce and ice cream.   Delish?.... it certainly it was!    And at least two of out '5 a day'.
We had a mug o' coffee before I bumbled my way back to The Royal Burgh;  leaving sunny Levenmouth and driving back to a cloudy Royal Burgh.  

Being tired after all that shopping and driving, I put away the messages, made a cuppa and  switched on the TV ! .... and promptly fell sound asleep for an hour and a quarter. 
Although there's a cool air the temperature on the patio is at 20.1C... that was about 2 minutes ago, when I went out to check.   I've been feeling sleep all afternoon.

The meeting between President Trump and President Zelensky began  a while ago;  big difference from
the first meeting.   President is wearing a 'suit' .... and said "Thank You" six times  (I counted) in the first few minutes of them meeting.   It's good to see that President Zelensky has  taken in all he has been 'taught' since their first  meeting in the Oval Office, in February.   This meeting could lead to 'Peace'.   If it does, we will be indebted to President Trump;  he speaks to President Putin!   

Tomorrow's weather for KY9 is to be cloudy, pretty much the same as today actually;  but slightly cooler.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Quiet morning ....

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
