Wall to wall sunshine ....

10th May 2025 (Saturday)     08.45 ....   We have a beautiful morning, with "wall to wall sunshine

and only a light breeze".    At the moment the breeze is southerly, but backing towards the SE;  and the temperature is 10.7C.   It's going to be a lovely, almost summer like day.   However, there is a slight chill in the air just now, so I didn't go out on the bike earlier as planned.  I'll go up to Chapel Green after morning coffee.

16.30    The thermometer has been up to 20.4C this afternoon;  and I have been sitting out enjoying it.   Instead of going biking in the morning I worked in the garden .... and enjoyed myself, but I expect the next couple o' days will have to be 'rest days.   Although breezy in the afternoon, it was warm under the parasol;  and it's a good place to think about things.  The blackbird has been busy feeding nestlings, as are a pair of Sparrows.   No sign of 'Blob' yet;  but he tends to lie low and keep his nest site 'secret'.   That will change once he begins feeding young.    The Tree Bumblebees are busy and increasing in number....  but, unlike Wasps, a Tree Bumble nest only has about 200 individuals.   A Wasp nest can have thousands.

21.00    As forecast it has been a gorgeous summer like day;  in fact it was hot sitting outside.    Kirsty came round, (with an Ian Rankine  book for me to read), so we caught up with each other's News.   Myra has the cold that's going round the villages;  and I think I might be coning down with it because I'm all choked up tonight.   I've been blaming the hay fever season (in fact I took an anti histamine pill this morning)   Although I've done well in the garden, I haven't been feeling 100%, and having a summer cold wouldn't surprise me.   That could explain why I haven't been that keen on biking.   I won't be going out now..... in fact I'll put the bike away after this update.

22.30    Tomorrow is going to be another sunny, and warm day;  it was 20.4C this afternoon.    It's to be breezier tomorrow, so could feel chillier.   I'll be having a quiet day "In Residence";  the gardening this morning has caught up with me, as I thought it might.   I don't think I'll be biking.   Sit under the parasol and Read my book?.... that I might do.
Today's photographs are 'flying things'' from my garden chair.    The top plane flew from an airfield
near Newcastle to Glenrothes Airfield, did a spot of sightseeing around Elie and Earlsferry and the East Neuk, then flew back to Newcastle.   The middle one is one of the local Jackdaws, and the bottom one an airliner.   It's not easy being 'me';  the parasol gets in the way of photographing planes!
