Peaceful morning ....

9th May 2025 (Friday)     08.30 .... We have a beautiful morning;  and I've been for the paper

(remembered to get it it), visited the harbour, and taken  a few photies.   The weather? .... it's sunny, with a light breeze and is forecast to be thus all day.   The harbour was quiet, even the gulls were quiet.   I should get out on the bike in the afternoon.... if the streets are quiet.

21.30    It has been a really bonnie day;  wall to wall sunshine all day, with only a light breeze.   It was warmer in the morning because the breeze was from the Westerly direction (I could see the 'Glenfuir' Union Flag).... but it went  back to the East in the afternoon, and became cooler because it was comin' "aff the watter".
I went to Leven in the morning;  having decided to go to Sainsbury's and get some rations in for the weekend.

I must have left Ivy about 10.00... and, even though I expect the roads to be busy nowadays, I was surprised at how many cars were making for the East Neuk.   We are definitely a 'holiday destination' now.    Mind you,  the weather forecast is good for the weekend....and we have everything people want on a sunny day;  beach, golf course, places to walk and bike, and lovely scenery.
When I think about it the UK should have a proper network of cycle routes, with places to stop for the night .... like motorway service areas (the Youth Hostels of my day).  The sort of thing that would save Mother Earth;  and make people healthier.   I did loads o' biking when I was young, but the roads were safer than they are now.

I didn't go out on the bike today because the wind had gone to the Easterly direction.   The 'plan' is to get up and out when the wind is from the West, as it is forecast to be tomorrow morning, then backing to the East in the afternoon:  a repeat of today's breeze.

The baby seagull atop the Sistine Chapel got a mention on the 'BBC evening News' today;  I'm glad
about that.   It's the sort of thing that knits nature into the election of a new Pope.   Obviously there were more bird watchers than me keeping an eye on the Sistine Chapel chimney.   Actually a bird watcher doesn't keep his, or her, eye on anything;  he, or she ,just catches something 'different'  moving out of the corner of their eye, then takes a proper look.   Must 'flap' ....it's time to make the 'orlicks.
