Nice morning ....

21st May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.00 .... There's a lot of breaking cloud about just now, but

the forecast is good..."sunny with an Easterly breeze"....  so, another nice day ahead.   I should get biking sometime today.

I had a short walk up to the phone box, and found it was pleasantly warm;  however the breeze is negligible just now, but is forecast to freshen by lunch time. Lovely, peaceful kind of start to the day.

20.30 .... It has been a lovely sunny day, but my word it has been chilly.  The breeze from the ENE had a feel  of the Arctic about it.   I never got further than the pavement, because the cold air was highly disagreeable with the auld tubes.   But the day wasn't wasted!   The bathroom mirror I bought the other day, has  been hung:  not the hardest of jobs, but something that I have been meaning to do for a long time.   The photograph shows the new mirror reflecting the Blue Fern, in front of the original bathroom mirror;  which you can just see behind the Blue Fern leaves.

Another job I did was transfer the contents of a jar of Douwe Egbers coffee, from it's original container (jar) into a empty and clean, Nescafe jar.   Why?.... so that I could open the jar without coffee granules ending up all over the floor;  as happened every time I opened the original Douwe Egbers jar.   Oh it was sealed to keep it's contents fresh right enough (sealed by a computer) .... but never meant to be opened by arthritic hands!   That was two jobs that made me feel a very satisfied 'boy'.

After lunch, having decided that I wasn't going biking in that cold wind, I  settled down to watch the 'News'.   This would be about 14.00.... by which time the headline news was the Prime Minister announcing, during Prime Minister's Questions, that the Winter Fuel payment was going to be changed, so that more pensioners would qualify next winter.

The News about the Winter Fuel payment didn't last that long as headline News:  President Trump

Charleton Golf Pavilion.
rapidly elbowed the 'winter payments'  out of the way, and grabbed the News top spot, when he met  President Ramaphosa, of South Africa in the Oval Office.  How the present POTUS acts is unbelievable;  it's like watching an American film, instead of actual real life!    Without doubt President Ramaphosa was the  professional diplomat... and the most dignified.

22.30    This bitterly cold Arctic wind is a step back to winter feeling air:  and it certainly 'clipped my wings' today.    Tomorrows weather  is going to be much the same as today's....  but colder.   I'm going to Methil .... and Leven.   Alice and I will do our weekend shopping.    I don't need much, but I enjoy visiting Alice, and shopping is more enjoyable done together.
