Quiet morning ....

12th May 2025 (Monday)     08.00 .... It's cloudy, but the cloud is going to clear to sunshine, with

an onshore breeze.   Could be cool on the breach:  I don't think I'll be going to Nana's Seat. ... but, I might get the bike out in the afternoon.   Right now it's breakfast time.... and I need an early morning coffee.   Grey mornings require a spot of caffeine.   Actually sunshine is forecast for most of the week;  beginning this afternoon!

10.00   The sky is brightening, and it's warm (17.2C) at the patio table.  I haven't been anywhere, having been catching up with the News,   The White Paper on Immigration being the main UK News just now.   There's no doubt about it;  the Reform Party has rattled the other parties, into 'action'.

Nearer home;  the 'Royal Burgh' seems quiet .... now I'm thinking of getting the bike out after morrrrrrrrning coffee.   At the moment the low cloud/haar is burning back to the North Sea, and the air is chilly.   I've stopped thinking of the bike out just now, because there are a couple of Red Admiral's flying around.

19.30    My word .... it was hot out the back today!    I never thought I'd have to abandon sitting at the patio table because it was to hot.... but that's what happened this afternoon.   The temperature was 20.5C, in the shade;  I don't know what the temperature was in the open sunshine!   All I know is that it was hot!   I didn't have the parasol up because of the frisky breeze.   You will remember that the wind blew the parasol away yesterday.  This clever boy sorted that with a piece of string;  I tied the parasol to the table.    If the parasol goes so will the table.   It's a cast iron table!

20.30    Being a lovely evening, I took the car along to The Toft and had a seat in 'Hyde Park'.   The villages seem quiet after the weekend;  now I'm wondering if it was a holiday weekend somewhere, because The Ferry seemed busy.   That said it was a lovely, sunny weekend, and that always attracts day trippers.

22.00   Blob has reappeared, and is collecting food for nestlings.   And the young blackbird is a regular
visitor at the back door.  The parent blackbirds will be settling down to have another brood.    It's all 'go' with our local bird life just now.

The main 'plan' for tomorrow, is making an appointment with Lorraine to get my haircut.   The m weather is forecast to be 'sunny with an Easterly breeze'.   The place to be ?.... the West coast, away from the Easterly breeze.
