Lovely morning ....

26th May 2025 (Monday)    09.15 .... We have a lovely sunny morning, with a moderate and chilly

breeze, bringing a lot of fluffy clouds from the NW.    A nice fresh morning with a good chance of squally showers as the day goes on.   I won't be going out on the bike.   The plan is to potter around Ivy most of the day:  I have an ironing to do, and there's always some 'ousework needing done.   Housework, in fact all 'work', is harder to do, and takes longer to do nowadays.

15.00    I had a wander down to the High Street, and even thought about going as far as the beach, but it was too windy... and, with the continual threat of squally showers.   I louped into the car and went back to Ivy to have morrrrrrrrrning coffee.   There's another shower coming over just now;  another cuppa or an ice cream cone.   I'll have the cone.

19.00    Kirsty brought a 'Talking Book' tape round, as I have a tape deck in the music thingy.   But we couldn't get it to play.   I have to be honest I very rarely use the tape deck so I thought it might be me pressing the wrong button.   But I don't think that's the problem.   I'll have another 'go' later.   In the meantime my day is ending with a migraine;  which isn't a surprise as I have been feeling 'under the weather' this afternoon.   It could literally be the weather that's causing the 'UTW' feeling;  it (the weather) is certainly causing the migraine.   Anyway I've had dinner and will settle down to watch the TV after this update.   And probably fall asleep.

We've had a few squally showers today so the tubs don't need me tonight:  And, according to the weather forecast we're to have more of the same tomorrow so I more or less redundant!

21.15    The weather has deteriorated and we now have steady rain: which is long overdue.   The golf course, farmers.... Alberto's tub's, and gardens in general. are badly needing it.  

Alice has a busy week ahead so I am visiting her tomorrow;  and 'annoying' her would not be one of my better ideas.    Lucas, Alice's grandson is also visiting tomorrow, and the three of us are going to the Wellesley Centre for lunch.   Alice's week ends with a weekend in Blackpool with her friend, and neighbour, Fiona.
 
I'm going to have my Horlicks and get off to bed to  read my book, and sleep off the migraine.   The rain
we have just now is going to move away early in the morning and we're to have a 'sunny intervals' day with the chance of shower in the middle of the day.   Tomorrow could be a nice day with fewer showers.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
