Bright and breezy ....
3rd May 2025 (Saturday) 08.45 .... We have a bonnie, fresh Spring morning... with a, near
enough, wall to wall blue sky. There's a chilly breeze from the Northerly direction, so it will be cool when out in the open. I might go biking in the afternoon, if the wind moderates.... and when the air is warmer. It's a nice day for walking the Coastal Path! I could do the Chapel Green bit! Right now I'm going to have a cuppa .... then send in my meter readings.16.45 I set off to have a short walk, up to the golf course, down past the 'Thistle' to Rotten Row, then to Siward Lane and home by way of the beach dunes, Nana's Seat then up Ferry Wynd. I had to have a change of 'plan' as a migraine kicked in while sitting outside the Thistle. So .... no walk to the beach today.. Although breezy it wasn't cold (this was at 12.30).... but it might have been, had I got as far as the dunes and Nana's Seat. I got a few photographs to 'play' with, including one of the 'new Katherine Villa'.
Back at Ivy I downloaded the photo graphs, made myself a round o' sandwiches for lunch. I took a couple o' pills for the migraine and I've had lazy afternoon. I set up the parasol and chairs for afternoon coffee, but the sun kept disappearing behind clouds that had moved down from the North. I had my coffee outside but it was too breezy (and chill) to stay out very long. I put the parasol and cushions away and settled down in front of the TV. It was siesta time.
The News has been dominated by Prince Harry's BBC interview (in America), and the 'shooting star' like rise of Reform, Nigel Farage's' political party, at the English local elections.
I am a Royalist, so I'll begin begin with Prince Harry. I don't know who is advising him, but Prince Harry has dug himself into a hole over the past year or two.... and is still digging. When you're in a hole you stop digging! Watching the interview I got the feeling that "everybody is oot o' step bar Prince Harry". I feel sorry for him in some ways, but most of his troubles are of his own making. (I'm thinking of the book 'Spare' and the interview with Oprah Winfrey). Prince Harry seems to have made his choice to be an 'American' family'... and live in the US of A. For everyone's sake I hope it can be resolved ... but Prince Harry isn't going the right way about reconciliation.
The rise of 'Reform' is democracy at work and the country will have to accept it. It certainly gives the
two 'big' parties something to think about. I have no doubt they (Labour and Conservative parties) will have 'behind the scene' meetings to discuss the best way forward (for them).
