Beautiful morning ....

2nd May 2025  (Friday)    09.00 .... It's a 'bright and sunny' morning.... and, although the air is

cooler, it's going to comfortably warm, and perfect for me sitting out for morning coffee.    Sunday is going to be the 'coldest' day of the weekend according to the forecasters.    I'm going to have a quiet day 'In Residence' (most of the time) today.   I need to find a place to get the flagpole up so I'll think about that today.   In fact that might be my 'work' for today.    Not actually putting up the flagpole;  just contemplating where it's going to go!   It's hard work being 'me'.

12.30    I haven't decided where the flagpole is going; but I had a cuppa (and goodie) outside and took a photo of Myra's rhododendron in full bloom.    I'll transfer it to a big tub after the flooers fall off and it settles down;  it's looking lovely and brightens up the patio.

The sky has clouded over in the past half hour (hopefully it will pass), so I gave up sitting outside.   There is a chance of 'precipitation' in the form of a shower somewhere else.   But not Elie and Earlsferry, ..... even though it would water the tubs.

20.00    It has been a nice Spring day;  at 18.1C it was slightly cooler than yesterday, but nice enough for me to have afternoon coffee outside.   This has been a 'rest day' ;  my activities of the past few days caught up with me, and I spent a most of the afternoon asleep.   I'm  feeling brighter now, and have  watered the tubs.:  in fact I've been over watering them, because most of the water ended up on the slabs.   I think I have it almost perfect now:  give them less water.




22.30    It has been a quiet day for me;  I can say that I feel 'well rested'.   Tomorrow I might go for a short walk .... it will most likely be too cold for me biking.   I must remember buy wind proof goggles, so that I can bike on colder and windier days.   Orf to bed to read my book after a lazy but enjoyable day.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
