30th September 2026 (Wednesday)     07.00 .... we have an overcast sky, with light rain at the moment;  but sunny spells are forecast for KY9 by morning coffee time.   It's a nice morning to take the car for it's MOT.    Right now I'm hungry;  ready for breakfast.... and morning coffee. 12.00     The car is in the garage for it's MOT.    Myra picked me up as planned and I was back home  by 09.30.    I've been looking forward to catching up with the 'ousework, so not having the car isn't going bother me too much.    The sunny spells have been slow to arrive, but I see the sky brightening now so we should have a brighter and dry afternoon.    At the moment we have light rain!    I think I'll have an early 'lite bite' lunch;  and, hopefully, after lunch,  the sun will have broken through so that I can go for a short walk.   Then more housework. 21.00...

29th September 2026 (Tuesday)     09.00 ....  It's a nice morning, but there's a change of wind direction with a cool breeze from the SE.    A nice morning for doing the Coastal Path.    I'm going Methil and Leven;  via Elie, to pick up a prescription.    A new inhaler to replace the 'Blue' one. 19.30     This has been a busy day.    I went to Methil, via Elie (Chemist), then  Colinsburgh to fuel up the car, and on  to Methil to annoy Alice, before going to Sainsbury's.   We had a successful shopping mission!    I hope the voters in the USA come to their sensed at the mid term elections;  the World can't take much more of this President of the United States!    That moan was brought on by the price of fuel;  it cost me £42 this morning, and I only use the car now and again.    No runs to Crail or anything like that now!  The World is holding ...

28th September 2026 (Monday)     We have a lovely, 'bright and breezy' morning here in KY9;  almost 'wall to wall' blue sky actually.    I'll have a short walk, after an early morning coffee, then go up to Elie to pick up a prescription.   I meant to so that on Saturday but got diverted! 11.45    I haven't been for my walk yet;  but the Buggy has been brought out of it's nest, and the battery put on charge.   That will take about 4 hours so I don't think I'll go out on it, 'The Buggy', today.   Hauling it out of it's nest is heavy work;  that will be today's 'work'! I'll go for my short walk after a late morning coffee.   The air is chillier than I expected;  but that will be because of the cloud. My short walk ended up at Nana's Seat;  but, my word sitting on Nana's Seat is not very comfortable, owning to the sand building up.    Mind you, it would be fine for having a catnap!...

27th September 2026  (Sunday)       10.45 .... The sky is heavily overcast;  and, when I was out at  the bin, the first spits and spots of rain mentioned in today's weather forecast arrived.   I think it's to be with us 'on and off' for most of the day.   It's not going to bother me, as I have 'inside work' planned for today.     I didn't go out for my walk:  'Laura'  (Kuenssberg), questioning Prime Minister Andy Burnham on the BBC News Channel, was really interesting.   'Andy' had a lot of good ideas for the  country, but the thorny problems;  the rising cost of Welfare (he'd do well to check to find out if the woman from East Sussex, filmed holidaying in Mexico while on benefits, could be the tip of a very large iceberg),  and illegal immigration, will have to be solved by the next General Election.    It will be interesting to see what his plan for the country is, in his...

26th September 2026 (Saturday)     09.30 .... We have a lovely Autumnal morning here at KY9; a perfect morning for being 'out and about'.    Me? .... I slept in, so haven't been for the early morning short walk I planned on having:  anyway this is a 'rest day' after the last few 'working' days.    Should I have an early morning coffee? .... yes I think I should!    And come up with an 'action plan' for the day.    16.30    Although breezy, it has been a lovely sunny day, and warm sheltered from the breeze.    As you can see from today's photographs I was slightly more adventurous with my short walk;  I eventually reached the Thistle Clubhouse, via Ferry Corner, to Rotten Row at The Old Diary.   The weather forecast isn't great for Sunday, so I took a wheen o' photies:  tomorrow's photies, if I can't get out because of the weather, have been taken today! 25th September 2026 (Friday)     09.45 ....  We've had some light rain overnight, but that has moved away to leave us with an overcast sky;  a sky that is already showing promising signs of breaking up.   We should have sunny spells by morning coffee time.   That would,be handy because the downie cover is ready to go out on the line. I have some computer stuff to do;  so that is the main 'plan' for today.   However I am also going to have a walk with the 'hurdy gurdy';  hopefully as far as the beach this time.   17.45    I set off for a short walk late in the afternoon.  I'd spent 2 hours in The Hutte doing a Soduko, and reading the Times book, about the history of trains, that Michael gave me... and... while keeping an eye on the weather!   The downie cover was on the line and some of the clouds were threatening looking.   A couple of times a few spits ans spots hit the Hutte...

24th September 2026 (Thursday)     09.45 .... There are some light fluffy clouds around just now, but the sun is working on that, and we should have good sunny intervals throughout the day.    The air (SW) is a wee bit cooler;  but that is easily taken care of  with a heavier jersey and woolly hat!   It's a washing day!  11.45    I've had a short walk as far as the Toon Hall, so today's photographs are .... today's.    I met Sandie (Bishop) out with her dog;  another friendly 'new local' to look forward to meeting when I go out.   The new inhaler is definitely helping my breathing!     I was using Jimmy's 'hurdy gurdy' (walking aid with wheels);  a useful piece of kit because it has a seat;  but I need a new, lighter weight one, that will fit into the car boot.   The washing is on the line, so I'm now having a well earned 'morning coffee'! 19.30     I e...

23rd September 2026 (Wednesday)    Autumnal Equinox     09.00 .... My word..... that was one wild squall that hit us at 06.30;  it woke me up, and  that was without my hearing aids.    I saw one flash of lightning about 06.50.   Anyway the sky is much brighter now, and I'm hoping that the heaviest squally rain showers have moved on.   The sky is brightening up from the West so we should have sunny spells by 10.30;  that's when I have my appointment at the Surgery!    12.00    My appointment with Jennifer went perfectly.   The new inhaler is doing it's job:  in fact I am getting one of them to carry around instead of the Blue inhaler.    I'm a happy boy. The top photo is my first skein of geese this Autumn;  as is usual with geese, I heard them before I actually saw them.  Geese aren't sneaky birds, they let us know they are around.   16.45    ...

22nd September 2026 (Tuesday)     08.00 ..... It's a nice morning;   a mix of clouds and blue sky= sunny intervals .... and there's a moderate, warm SW wind, so a good day for hanging out the washing.   Better still, I'm feeling 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' after a good night's unbroken sleep.    Must 'go go go'; got a sheet to hang out on the line. 20.00   We've enjoyed a lovey sunny day;  and a warm one.   21.5C on the thermometer.   I enjoyed my trip to Methil;  where I tormented Alice, went to visit her friend Barbara, then went to Sainsbury's for a few bits and pieces.   Had lunch with Alice then back home by 14.30. We've got fairly heavy cloud just now, but it should  slowly brighten up to  give us a sunny afternoon.    There's a light breeze and it's warm;  but it's not a bonnie morning just now.   Grey and uninspiring looking at the moment. 16.30   We've had a gorgeous sunny, and warm (21C on the patio);  in fact it was too hot to sit in the Hutte for a while. I've been busy catching up with paper work, including taxing the car!   That reminds me I must book it in for the MOT.   Car has been booked in for Wednesday 30th. 20th September 2026 (Sunday)     10.30 ..... It's a lovely morning;  and a perfect drying day!   In fact the weather forecast is a few ;drying days in succession for KY9.    I'm a 'happy boy'.   Yes I have a washing on the line;  and will start the 'rest' part of my day with morning coffee. 20.30    I've had a 'working' day;  and I actually enjoyed it, because it has been the perfect 'drying day'.    Yes, I'm a contented boy this evening.    It hasn't all been work:  I've done some reading (research), and a couple of Soduko's, out in The Hutte.   When I think about it I haven't been further than the pavement;  putting the bins out about 5 minutes ago.   I watched Laura  (Kuenssberg) interview Earl Spencer this morning.   Laura is brilliant at her 'job' and pulls no punches;  but this must have been a challenge because of the subject matter, Earl Sp...

19th September 2026 (Saturday)     07.30 ....  It's a bright and breezy morning;  and, after a  good night's unbroken sleep, I feel  .... as bright and breezy as the weather!    Actually I'm ready for breakfast,.... and a cuppa.    Michael is going home today;  leaving me i/c.    He has organised plenty food, and done a lot of work around the house;  but I have no doubt I'll soon be back to my old dis organised routine.    Must 'go' , slight 'Flap On' this morning. 17.00   Michael is on his way home to Sunny Sussex this morning:  after a busy week at Ivy Cottage he'll be glad to get home for a rest:  w e arrived at Leven Station with about 10 minutes to spare, so I took today's photos at the Station.     Due to engineering work between Edinburgh and Newcastle, Michael has to take the Border Line from Edinburgh to Carlisle, then the West Coast Main line to Euston.  Th...

18th September 2026 (Friday)    14.00 ..... Having been to Sainsbury's to do the shopping .... I can say that we've been busy!    The shop was quieter than expected, at least the checkout's were;  but they did have a lot of them open.  Anyway the shopping has been done, and we got back to Ivy by 11.30.   Since then Michael has set up the 'crock pot' with a casserole.    Me? ..... I've been playing with old photographs. 16.00    Shopping must be hard work;  all I've done this afternoon the mornings dishes, catnap and watch some TV.    I beginning to feel more wide awake now;  and in the mood to do some 'computer stuff'. 18.30    The weather has deteriorated and we now have a dreich evening;  a nice evening for working on the computer.    Michael is busy in the kitchen;  the casserole is tantalising my nostrils..... and I am starting to fell hungry.     21.00 ...

17th September 2026 (Thursday)    10.15 .... It's a lovely morning;  with a few clouds scuttling across on the brisk NW wind, the forerunners of the showers that are forecast to come our way later.   Michael made a full English breakfast this morning so I won't need much in the way of food until dinner time.    My contribution to breakfast, apart from scoffing it, was doing the washing up.  16.00    I've been busy out in the Hutte;  no... not doing a Soduko;  taking photographs of wee golf clubs for my blog page.   There's always good light in The Hutte, that I can manipulate with the window blinds.  Anyway, they are alright, so I'll upload a photo later:  the kettle is 'on' 20.00      I am relying on a couple of showers  coming our way to water the flower tubs;  when I think about it we've had rain most nights, so the tubs are probably fine.    Actually they look good;...

16th September 2026 (Wednesday)     09.45 .... It's a lovely morning... and ... oops I need to switch on the washing machine... because it's a good drying day!   Apart from switching 'on' the washing machine, what is the plan for today?    Mostly checking paper work, including  'computer stuff'.   The weather forecast is good until later in the afternoon and overnight, when we could have showers.     Must 'go'.... 15th September 2026 (Tuesday)      The 15th September?.... that means 100 days to Christmas Day!   How time flies. Kinneuchar kirk this morning. 12.30   Michael has been busy fitting handrails  above the bath so that I have something to hold when stepping into the bath to have a shower.   Before doing the handrails, Michael had a quick trip up to Kinneuchar Kirk, but the light wasn't that good:  so I have used  one of the photographs we got yesterday.   It's actually turned out quiet legible.    Me?   I am have been doing computer 'stuff' some of the time,    Watching 'Taggart' some of the time;  and generally recovering after a busy day yesterday! 14.30    I've just found out that I forgot to 'publish' The Hutte  update that I did earlier.    Sorry aboot that!   I'm wide awake now!    We have a sunny and hot spell of weather just now;...

Main Street, Kinneuchar. 14th September 2026 (Monday)     10.15 .... We have a sunny and warm morning here in KY9.   And we had a wee bit of excitement;  a Speckled Wood butterfly in the kitchen.   It might have waited until I'd cleaned the windows!   Anyway it has been photographed, and released.   I saw it fluttering around the Hutte yesterday, but it never settled. 12.30    Michael and I have been up to Kinneuchar to take a few photographs from, and in, the kirkyard.    Including the headstone, erected by Jimmy Braid,  golfer, and 5 times winner of The Open, in Memory of his Father and Mother.  20.30      We have had a busy day!   Well, Michael has been busy;  he organised dinner, a casserole, in the Slow Cooker, before we went up to Kinneuchar on our mission for the morning:  and it tantalised us with hunger provoking aromas as soon as we got back to Ivy....

 13th September 2026 (Sunday)     09.00 .... We have a lovely morning here in KY9;  and today's weather forecast is good.....  'light cloud with a light breeze from the SW'.    We're going to do our shopping in Kirkcaldy, because we need to go to Curry's. 18.00    We've had a busy day!   Well, Michael has;  I was the trolley pusher.   By the time we were finished shopping it was one heavy trolley.     But let's start at the beginning!    The roads were busy;  and this was Sunday!  When I think of it; Supermarkets changed our weekend habits!  Instead of going for a walk  in the country, we loup into the car and have a walk, up and down the colourful, and seductive advertising,  aisles of a Shopping Mall. 12th September 2026 (Saturday)       08.45 ....
