Bonnie morning ....

6th May 2025 (Tuesday)     08.30 .... I'm feeling playful this morning;  and it's a grand kind of

morrrrrning for 'playing'..... sunny with a light breeze.  I'm going to Leven and Methil;  I need to do some shopping, and Alice needs to be annoyed.... and I'm good  at both.   Later in the afternoon, if it's warm enough, I'll get the bike out and go up to Chapel Green.   (Unfortunately the breeze is forecast to back to the East).    The wind is to be light over the next couple of days so could be good biking weather... and be tempting but I'm not going to overdo it.   Must 'go'... slight 'flap on';  got a washing to hang out.

19.00    It has been a lovely sunny and warm day;  and Alice and I had a brilliant shopping session, not a big one but enjoyable.... and got everything we wanted.    As ever nowadays the shop was busy as were the roads.   We went back to Alice's HQ and had lunch followed by coffee before I  made my way back home. the wind was coming off the North Sea by this time, and it was cold, so I decided that there  was no chance of me going out on the bike.   I put the messages away, made a cuppa then fell sound asleep for nearly an hour.   When I woke up I fancied an afternoon coffee outside in the sun, but the cold wind was swirling all over the place so that idea was abandoned.   I enjoyed the coffee while watching the News.

"Sunny intervals with a gentle breeze (E)" is forecast for tomorrow, so it will be cool on the beach.   With the wind being off the sea I won't be going to the beach!..... I've just brought the washing in and I can tell you it is chilly.   

21.30   The wind had moderated so I had a run to the harbour (in the car) to see what was 'appening around the village.   Not much actually;  it was a bit cool for daundering around, although 'The Ship' seemed fairly busy;  one of the outside tables had people around it!   Brave people I might add.... because it was cauld.

I had the harbour to myself but there was one couple having a walk on the beach.   They were well wrapped up ....so was I, it wasn't that cold, but I didn't linger.  I don't have a plan for tomorrow:  I 'm hoping that the 'light breeze' that's forecast is 'very light', and therefore warm in the afternoon.... if it is I might get the bike out.   And.... I need to move some of the patio tubs so I might get that done.

The  RNLI  Lifeguard Station has been put in place on the harbour beach;  that's always a sign that

summer is coming.;  and I hope it's a good one this year.  

I'm tired tonight;  and I can't think why.     Anyway I'm going to make the Horlicks then get off to bed with my book.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
