Nice, albeit cold, morrrrrrning ..,..

4th May 2025 (Sunday)    09.00 .... it's a bonnie morning, but there's a cauld wind from the North; 

I don't think I'll be havin' ma mornin' coffee outside!   There's no chance of me getting the bike out today:  in fact it will be a 'stay in and stay warm day 'for me.   There's lot of clouds about and they keep 'switching off' the sun which is annoying.   I need another cuppa before going out to see what the temperature actually is!

11.30   The temperature is 11.9C at the moment;  the minimum temperature overnight was 2.8C.   Last year we had a frost when the apple tree was in blossom, and ended up with only 9 apples;  the tree is covered in blossom just now, which should give me a good crop of apples....  and make me an extremely 'happy boy'.   I do not want frost!  

I'm feeling active this morrrrrrrrning, and even contemplating having  a wander down to Nana's Seat.  However, as soon as I step onto the pavement, and into the cold North wind ..... I suddenly feel in the mood for another cuppa.    I think I'll leave the walking until the afternoon.  

17.15   It was too cold for me going down to Nana's Seat;  but the final of the snooker is on BBC, so I watched the first session of that in the afternoon.  It was much warmer that going to the beach;  and I've had a migraine.   This is migraine weather.   Although warm outside, the wind swirls around even into the sheltered corners, so no afternoon coffee outside today.... and we had a few spot o' rain.

20.30    'Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze',.... the breeze being NE in the morning and veering to SE in the afternoon.   It's to be cold tonight, hopefully not frosty (I'm thinking of the apple tree blossom), and cold tomorrow morning, but slightly warmer in the afternoon.    It will be another 'stay in and stay warm' day for me.

I've had a lazy day watching the snooker .... and doing some odd jobs around Ivy.   The final frames of the snooker are tomorrow ;  followed by the presentation ceremony.   So I won't be that bothered by the cold tomorrow.... I'll be watching the snooker!

I never went out for a walk today so today's photos are from the garden.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
