Nice morning ....
24th May 2025 (Saturday) 08.45 .... We have a bright morning after the overnight rain; in fact
it's a pleasant start to the holiday weekend; the forecast is 'breezy with sunshine and showers'. The sun is breaking to give us a day of 'sunny intervals and showers'. Plan for today? ....I'm looking forward to a 'rest day', and enjoying of one of the sunny intervals having morning coffee at the patio table.11.45 Although breezy it's warm (19.8) and I enjoyed 'morrrrrrrning coffee outside. So far, the showers have passed by, but the threat is still there. Actually, if the wind drops later I might get the bike out because it isn't a chilly wind. I can see the 'Glenfuir' Union Flag almost fully stretched so that is a frisky breeze (F3 - 4). Actually I'll have a walk down to Ferry Corner to take a few photographs.
20.00 I've had a quiet day; the hardest work I did was make sausages and mash for dinner! It has been a lovely warm day; the temperature reached 21.6C in the middle of the afternoon. Anne came round in the afternoon, when it was nice and warm, and told me that a close member of the family had died. My thoughts and prayers are with Anne, Bob and family at this sad time. We sat at the patio table and chatted; and Anne boosted my tub watering status by telling me she thought I was an excellent tub 'waterer'. I think she based that on the fact that the plants were 'stood staunin' upright!
In the afternoon I watched the Scottish Cup Final (not something I often do). I'm glad I did because, against all odds, Aberdeen won!...with a penalty shoot out. The score after 120 minutes being 1 - 1.
Gromit, who was a Rangers supporter this morning, is wearing his 1990 Aberdeen scarf.
22,45 It's raining so I won't have to water the tubs tomorrow. I am liking this overnight rain.
during the night!
