Wall to wall blue sky ....

15th May 2025 Thursday)    08.45 .... No cloud this morning.... just wall to wall sunshine.

There is a light Easterly breeze so it will be warmer inland than it is at the coast.   Hopefully the haar will stay out at sea.  I must go up to Balcarres sometime this week.... this weather is forecast for the next few days.   I'm feeling fine this morning, but I did have a headache at 15.30.   However I went back to bed and woke up, feeling 'almost frisky', at 07.00.

19.30   It has been another sunny and warm day;  though the has been a cool onshore breeze.   It was hot at Dysart, a real summer like day.   The COVID booster I had yesterday hasn't bothered me, though I am very tired now.   But let's start at the beginning.   I arrived at Alice's to find the house full of girl neighbours wishing  Alice "Happy Birthday" etc.   With me being a shy boy, Karen found me a corner to sit quietly in, and have a cuppa ... and cake!  Nae diets on birthdays.   How old is the birthday girl today? .... 2,526,336,000 seconds old (including Leap Years).   Ye Gods... that is old!

Fisherman's shed....Dysart.
One of the 'girls', Annette, who worked with Stained Glass, was a Member of 'Made in Fife' (Crafts) at the same time as Maggie and me.  Annette is retired now, arthritis in her hands.   It's frustrating not being able to do what you once found easy, but Annette  gets much satisfaction from knowing her creations are all over the the World.

After the girls left we had another cuppa before went to Dysart to have lunch in the Harbour Master's House Cafe, with lovely views over the harbour and Forth to Edinburgh.   It was misty so Edinburgh wasn't very clear this morning.   After lunch (Beef Burgers with trimmings) we had a wander out on the middle pier.   The harbour was a busy harbour exporting coal until Methil Docks were built specifically to export the 'black gold'.  During WWII 'Jems' (Jimmy Linton) who was a Marine Engineer, worked on MTB's (Motor Torpedo Boats) being finished at Dysart.    Dysart is busy now with recreational vessels;  sailing and motorised, of all sizes.   Alice and I then went back to Methil, via the Standin' Stane road for a change of scenery.   We had coffee and cake before I set of for Ivy arriving home about 14.30.   I was asleep before 15.00;  and woke up at 16.05.  I was tired after a busy and enjoyable morning.

It's a lovely evening, and if I wasn't so tired (I think the booster jab might be catching up with me)  I'd

Thoughtful birthday girl.
get the bike out.  (5 minutes later):  actually I wouldn't be getting the bike out because there's a chilly breeze.
Tomorrow is forecast to be another sunny day:  I am going to potter around the garden, and hopefully get biking at some point in the day.

I'm going to have a cuppa and a piece of, one of Alice's Birthday cakes.
