Lovely morning .....

19th May 2025 (Monday)     08.15 .... The cold damp air of last night has moved away, and we

have, at the moment, a lovely, fresh sunny morning, with a cool breeze from the ENE:  however, there's a bank of threatening looking cloud moving in from the North Sea.... and there's a chance of showers in the middle of the day.   I might not have to water the tubs this evening!   

After yesterday's day of activity, I'm going have a quiet day pottering around Ivy;  but must go to Elie to hand in my prescription sometime today. 

11.45   I combined my 'prescription handing in mission' with a visit to the Harbour:  then discovered that the  visit to the harbour wasn't my best idea, because the Fife Highways workmen were clearing the sand from the road to the harbour.    However (I must be feeling patient this morning) I persisted and got to the harbour and back out again.   Coming out I was following the sweeper as it was finishing.  I got myself a few photos to keep me happy for a while.

Elizabeth (my Kirk Elder) came by delivering info about the amalgamation of our local Trinity kirk with Largo and St Monans. Considering that Elie and Kinneuchar kirks are 'For Sale'  (Colinsburgh has already been 'Sold') I guess there's not much else can be done about it, other than amalgamate.   Of course if the local  Community buys the 'church' it (the building) could still used as the 'local church', in the 'new' bigger Parish.   I'm beginning to think the Church of Scotland, as we know it, won't exist by the end of this century.   Maybe even by the middle of it.  Change is rapidly happening 'everywhere' now.   

20.30    We had some spot o' rain this morning but, literally only spits and spots.   It didn't stop me taking photographs.
I've had a good day, although I never went out on the bike because of the breeze.    The washing I did in
the morning dried;  that reminds me I have yet to iron it.    I'll do that after this update.   But I've been feeling better;  it usually takes me a couple of weeks to get completely over the 'jab'.   This one has had milder effects than the previous ones.
The plan for tomorrow is to go to Methil to catch up with Alice, who has been away for a birthday break for a few days, with Izzy (daughter).   They were based in Keith (Aberdeenshire).

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
