Sunny spells forecast....

breeze" is our weather forecast.... so we should have another bonnie day.    I haven't got a plan for today, but Michael and Janice (Sussex)  are coming up on Wednesday so I might try a bit of ooverin' and dustin'.  Actually, forget 'might' do' .... I should 'do' a bit of ooverin' and dustin'.   But I'm not in an ooverin' and dustin' mood.    

15.00    I surprised myself having actually done some 'ousework.... but still have the ooverin; and dustin' to do.    That will be done tomorrow.    It's a lovely if slightly mauchless, day.   I haven't been anywhere because of the Olympic 10m diving competition, (and show jumping).   Tom Daley and his partner won the Silver Medal, which was amazing for somebody who can out of retirement to compete.   The Chinese took the Gold  Medal; and deservedly so, they were absolutely brilliant.   Even though they beat Team GB.

19.30    The day is ending with a lovely evening, very still... and very warm.    Could be another restless night.    

I went out in the car in the middle of the afternoon (it was mostly cloudy at that time) .... just the short run round by Balbuthie and Kinneuchar.   Kinneuchar has an 'Olde Worlde' look from the Balbuthie Road.... and I love it.   That was after I had done a bit more 'work'.   The bedroom is almost ready for occupation:  got the 'ooverin' to do.   I'll leave the bed making to Michael and Janice!

21.00   It's forecast to be another lovely day tomorrow;  but the wind is going to be fresher so I will feel cooler when out in the open.   Not 'cold' .... just  pleasantly cool.   Tomorrow could be the warmest day of the week...  and a cooling breeze will be welcome.

Pittenweem swimming pool....

20th September 2017 (Wednesday) ... 13.30    When I went along to Elie for the papers this morning, I got slightly diverted and ended up along at the old Pittenweem tidal swimming pool.  Pittenweem  swimming pool.    Unfortunately we have a, mostly overcast, with occasional spits and spots of rain, morning.     I must go back on a ‘bright and  sunny’ morning... this will show up the different colours of the sandstone rocks etc better.    It is an interesting spot, and would have been busy in the 1930’s , 40’s and 50’s.        20.30     My day has been spent pottering around Ivy... including baking a batch of wholemeal scones.    Note to self .... I must remember to freeze some of them this time;  rather than feed them to Blob and his pals.     It has been a grey and sometimes damp day;  not a day for bumbling about outside.    The ‘cold’ that I had last night didn’t come to anything.... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
