Grey sky ....

25th July 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... It's a quiet morning with an overcast sky.... with thundery


showers forecast for later in the afternoon.   After a better night's sleep, I'm  'sort of vertical'.   I'd wouldn't say I was 'bright eyed and bushy tailed' .... (a couple of degrees under the weather would be more like it).   I should brighten up after I have a shower.... and breakfast.

20.00    We had some big clouds around us but, luckily, the thundery showers missed us.... and the shower towels that I washed.   The West coast had the thunderstorms.    The 'bug' I woke up with didn't go away but I am now on anti-biotics, and an appointment made with the Urologist.   It's actually quite amazing;  I'm retracing Jimmy's steps because he had the same problems.... including a sair knee.

I got a pleasant surprise when Alice phoned to say she was on the '95' passing through Kinneuchar;  I promptly louped into the car and went to meet her off the aforementioned '95' bus.   We had a cuppa when we got back to Ivy, which was shortly followed by lunch.   After washing the dishes we sat and chatted;  just a lazy afternoon.


With prescriptions to pick up at the Chemist (my word the shop was busy) we timed that mission for Alice catching the 16.05 bus back home.  I met Gloria (who I haven't seen for a long time) when in Elie;  she was looking well, and  going to the Chemist so we caught up with each other's news while waiting in the queue.

I had my first anti-biotic pill art16.00;  and they are big.    If size has anything to do with it, my infection should clear up quickly.   They're at least twice the size o' a Paracetamol.

What did I say aboot the thundery showers missing us?   A thundery shower just rattled it's way across us.... and we might get a few more.   'Sunny spells with a moderate breeze' is our weather for tomorrow.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
