Quiet morrrrrrrrrning .....
2nd July 2024 (Tuesday) 09.15 .... I was expecting a bit of the "sunny and warm" weather but at
'The Paddocks' building site - Colinsburgh. |
the moment we have the "overcast, with the chance of sunny spells and light rain shower later" kind. Disappointing I suppose... but there's very little wind so it's a quiet (apart from the workmen down in Ferry Wynd) peaceful morning. Ferry Road is 'Closed'; and nothing happening around the 'ole. I'm going to take a turn roond the Ferry on the bike after an 'early morning coffee'.... and before any light showers that might come our way. None of the Fife Weather cams are showing any 'bloo' bits in the sky!
10.30 The run roond the Ferry, on the bike, has been put on hold until the sunny spells arrive; could be after lunch time going by the look of the sky. I might have a turn round the villages in the car. At the moment the kettle is 'on'.
20.30 I'm absolutely 'shattered'; Stage 4 of le Tour was a 'mountain' Stage with a lot of climbing, some of it steep .... and the final climb, Col du Galibier, very steep. Those guys are amazingly fit.... and the 'climbing' specialists especially so. I'll sleep well tonight. Stage's 5 and 6 are flat and will be 'rest days'! With all that going on it was late afternoon before went up to Kinneuchar, on the bike; it was nice enough but much cooler than I expected it to be.... especially for July.
Tomorrow is going to be another mostly overcast day, with drizzle/light rain at times. I might birl roond The Ferry before breakfast if it's not wet. The 'plan' is to do some 'ousework in the morning; then watch (intermittently) Stage 5 of The Tour in the afternoon.
