Lovely warm morning ....

19th July 2024 (Friday)    08.00.... It's a beautiful morrrrrrrrrning and I am seriously tempted to

get the bike out!..... but I won't;  which is really frustrating.   Anyway we have a beautiful summer like morning.... even the temperature is near enough where it should be in July.   We're due a decent spell of summer weather.

17.00    It has been a really nice summer's day;  I was out without a woollie hat!   After an early morning migraine I went to Methil to have morrrrrning tea with Alice, then go to Leven to get a couple of items from B & M's then onto Sainsbury's.   It was very warm and mauchless at this time.    We then went back to Alice's to have lunch:  and that included a new and tasty, version of Eton Mess!    We then had coffee before I bumbled my way back to Ivy.
I keep on about how busy the roads are now;  I think today was the busiest I have ever seen the A915: there was a steady stream of traffic both ways.... including cyclists.  It certainly was a bonnie day for biking.... and the beach!  


21.00   I've been thinking about the cyclists on the main road this morning.... and I've been there  loads o' times when I used to bike all over the place, and that was before the roads became congested with traffic.   What we need now, if we're really thinking 'green'  and healthy, is a network of proper cycle ways all over the UK.  There could be campsite/hostels on the routes, with charging points for electric bikes; a modern version of the 'Youth Hostels' and a proper safe system of cycle ways and  'Pilgrim Trails', by bike.... or foot.      OK I'm dreamin.... but it would be a good thing.    Yes it would cost a lot  but, we have squandered money on plenty 'pie in the sky schemes':  lets do something good for a change.   Oh ....I am of course ever so slightly biased towards biking!

Overcast with light rain .....

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and friends gathering to celebrate Brian and Moira's Gol

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good lunch!   And it was a really good lun

Cold and overcast ....

18th April 2024 (Thursday)    08.00 .... The Fife Weather cams are all showing an overcast sky:  rain hasn't reached Fife so far, but is expected to arrive by mid morrrrrrrning...."light rain and a fresh Westerly breeze" being the forecast until later in the afternoon;  but we're going to end the day with a bonnie evening.  Hmmmmm .... I don't think I'll be painting any bits of the shed today; and that was my project to take my mind off the car.   Computer stuff it will have to be:  I'm actually in a writing mood so this might not be a wasted day. 09.00   Forget the heap oops... car (it's in the 'bad car' corner);  I'm excited because the workmen are here to begin work on the patio. They arrived a wee while ago;  unfortunately spits and spots o' rain arrived at the same time and, if  the rain is heavy and prolonged they won't be able to do much.   Showers are OK but not prolonged rain.  Must 'go' got to have another cuppa
