Overcast with a light breeze....

24th October 2026 (Saturday)     09.45 .... We had a quiet moonlit night, that ended with a "red
sky in the morning Shepherd's warning"  sky!   Storm Boelo has yet to reach us but is on it's way;  at the moment we have a threatening grey sky with a moderate  WSW breeze but is freshening as I type.  Iain and I  haven't made up our mins about going to Kirkcaldy;  need another check on the weather.    Oh... Iain went down ro the down to take the sunrise sky!

16.30    We went to Kirkcaldy and bought a lightweight 'hurdy gurdy' (Rollator).    It's round about the same size as the one I have, but is much lighter, and I can lift it into the car boot.    The main difference with this one is that it has proper brakes,   It might be hard to believe but Rollator can 'tun away' when going down hill.     And the brakes can be 'locked' when sitting admiring the scenery ;  which we have a lot of in KY9!

'Fairprice', where we bought the Rollator, is next door to Asda, so we went in and did a wee bit shopping.   Asda (Kirkcaldy) is a big shop, and now said on auld legs.   Legs that enjoyed a long browsing session a few years ago!.... can't do that now.

The roads were busy, as they always are nowadays.    And the weather was 'overcast but sky with a light wind.    'Storm Boelo' was off  the North Wear of Scotland! ... and had yet to make it's presence felt.   On the way home the first drops of rain hit the car windscreen as we were coming down  Ferry Road.

20.00    The wind has freshened (F6 WSW ) and it has been raining, so I think we could say that Storm Boelo has arrived in KY9.    The strongest winds are going to be  in the middle of the day tomorrow;  which coincides with  high tide  at 14.06.    However, by that time it should only be wind;  with the chance of sunny spells.   I don't think I'll be going out with the new 'hurdy gurdy' tomorrow;  perhaps a few turns round the patio in the afternoon.

I'm odd to put the kettle on to make a cuppa.   It's chilly out this evening, probably because of the wind;
thankfully it's warm inside.    Anyway a cuppa is called for;  and a cuppa we shall have!
22.30    Off to bed on what is a wild night.   I suspect I might have a broken night's sleep!
