Overcast and wet ....

17th September 2025 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... Low cloud has drifted in off the North Sea on

Colinsburgh.
SE breeze to give us a 'dreich' morning.   However, it's going to be a lovely, sunny and warm  afternoon, because the wind is going to veer to the SW from midday.   My 'plan' for today? .... I shall go up to Elie, get the paper(s)  and .... make an appointment to have my haircut.

19.30    I watched the 'Pomp and Ceremony' of Presidents State visit most of the afternoon.   Myra had phoned in the morning to remind me that it was the Colinsburgh Lunch today; which was handy because I didn't have to bother about making lunch.   Anyway, where was I? .... yes watching the State visit 'Pomp and Ceremony'.    There's no doubt about it;  no other country can do 'Pomp and Ceremony' like we do;  it was marvellous.   The only thing was; without the crowds, it was like watching the final rehearsal before the actual event the next day.   We have certainly gone the extra mile to impress President Trump;  hopefully it will bring some 'reward', from the political part of the visit tomorrow.

22.00    The table in St George's Hall, set for the state banquet!    Did I say we'd gone the extra mile for  the President and The First Lady of America?.... I think the state banquet table alone was worth at least another 'extra' mile.

Colinsburgh Town Hall.
Now I'm wondering if anyone had 'fish 'N chips!   My breakfast bar needs something;  I know.... I'll get rid of the 'Corn Flakes' packet!   Imagine the train set you could have on that table!   Oops I'm beginning to dream.   It was absolutely amazing to see that table;  and to know that there are people who can actually set a table like that.   They'll have a 'plan'.

I have a 'plan' for tomorrow morning; I'm having my haircut!
