Lovely morning ....

5th September 2025 (Friday)    08.45 .... It's a 'bright and breezy' morning;  much fresher, and

slightly chillier than it has been lately (13.5C just now).   It should be pleasantly warm in the afternoon.    I'm going to Methil so see Alice, and we'll have a run along to Dysart Harbour for a change of scene .... and lunch at The Harbour Master's house.

19.00    Dysart Harbour was quieter than usual, with only one vehicle on the middle pier.   Actually that was good, because vehicles parked up on an old harbour spoil it:  takes away from the 'oldness'.   Alice and I arrived at Dysart with plenty of time to have a walk out on the Middle Pier, before going to 'The Harbour Master's House' Cafe for lunch.   The harbour is well used by pleasure craft sailors, mostly though ;  with a good number of yachts.   I imagine the Forth Bridges would be a regular cruise from Dysart;  just as North Berwick and May Island are for the Elie and Earlsferry sailors.   When I was sailing with Jimmy we often went West as far as Dysart but never went into the harbour.

As with the harbour, the Cafe was quiet (about half full) so we had no problem getting a 'table for two'.   The have a good choice of menu (including an 'all day breakfast'.  We had toastie with salad on the side, and a mug of tea.  The toasties were so filling that we didn't have dessert;  and went back to Alice's Residential HQ for coffee.

Just as we got to the 'RHQ' the postie arrived with a parcel that Alice had been expecting;  a new router for connection to the web.   Unknown to us at the time, this would be our 'before coffee'  entertainment.    All went well with the unplugging of the auld router, and inserting two of three plugs into the new one;  but the third one did not fit :  and it was the 'power' plug.   Eventually, 'someone' looked in the box that the new thingy had come in, and found some more bits and pieces:  including a new power lead ....  that fitted the new router.   And so ended, what had been a busy half hour.    We enjoyed our coffee!

22.00   Angela Reynar's resignation, has given us an eventful day in UK politics.   I kind of feel

sorry that Angela Reynar had to resign;  she had her finger on the pulse of 'ordinary working people'.  What she did was silly and she had no choice but to resign:  she has let down the Labour Party, her Constituents, and politics in general:   but...  most of all she let herself down.
