11th September 2025 (Thursday) 24th Anniversary of the 'Twin Towers" terrorist attack.
08.30 .... We have a frisky breeze this morning; with sunny
intervals and shower clouds. We could have an interesting sky today. The wind being from the westerly direction means I can go out and about.... between the showers! Ian should be here about 10 o'clock to pick me up, for a trip to Lower Largo and Lundin Links. 16.00 Ian took me for a run round Lower Largo and Lundin Links, to have a look at the places he visited with his parents when he was young; including the place where they stayed when he was learning to walk! From there we then went on a 'tour' of the East Neuk: up to Higham Toll then along to Crail by 'the back road' and finally home.
18.30 We've had a lovely mostly sunny day; in fact, if I remember correctly, the heavy shower, that passed over us 20 minutes ago, is the only shower we've had. Tubs watered; I'm a 'happy boy'. It's a nice evening; I'd go for a short walk, but there's still a chance of more showers. Anyway I took a lot of photographs from Ian's car this morning; so loads to play with.
20.30 I've had to put the heating on to take the chill off the air. Right, what am I doing tomorrow? Myra, Kirsty and I are going to Leven Golf club for lunch; so that takes care of food. The weather is going to be much like it was today.... only colder. The though of the weather turning colder, reminds me that I need a hot cuppa! I'll make that then watch the 'News'.22.30 Having watched the News from America about Charlie Kirk (someone I've never heard of until today) being shot and later dying; my first thoughts are with this family, friends and people who knew and admired him.... and he has many followers. The US of A has many problems.
My thoughts are also with all Americans who find themselves living in a country blighted with 'political'hatred'. It's going to take a lot of serious thinking, to turn that 'hatred' into 'love'. But that's what needs to be done. And, turning 'hatred' into 'love', as in 'love thy neighbour', needs to happen with all the 'war thinking' people of the World: politicians have to speak to each other; try to understand why other people think differently. Not talking is simply childish.... and can rapidly blunder into War. We need peace loving politicians. Look around you ... and see the beauty that's there... everywhere. Forget sophisticated killing machines; war has never solved a problem yet: if it did WW1 would have been, not only the first ... but also the last World War!
