Lovely morrrrrrrrning ....



8th September 2025 (Monday)     08.15 .... At the moment we still have some early morning

clouds, but the sun will quickly get rid of them, to leave us with a "bright and breezy" play day.   The air is slightly cooler than it has been lately, but it should be pleasantly warm in the afternoon.   I'm feeling frolicsome.... and that's before I have morning coffee!

12.00    I've done the Thistle, Rotten Row and Ferry corner walk;  and thinking of getting the bike out to go up to Kinneuchar.   I need a  cuppa before I do that.

14.45   I'd just got 'The Buggy ' out, to go for a run up to Chapel Green, when it started to spit rain.... so that plan was postponed, and the buggy is now back in it's nest.   There are few darker clouds around and this was just the edge of one of those.    I'll have a cuppa then check the Fife Weather cams again.

20.30    I eventually went up to Chapel Green, on 'The Buggy', in the early evening;  not because any showers came our way (apart from the few spits and spots in the middle of the afternoon).... but, because a few more threatening clouds rolled over.   Largo Law had a shower (6mm).  
The streets are much quieter in the evening.   It was a lovely, quiet evening... and warm in the sun.

22.30   This has been an enjoyable day;  and I've felt more like my auld self.   Tomorrow I'm going to Methil to see Alice, then we'll to Leven to get some bits and pieces from the Bargain Store: and I need some stuff from B & Q's.  After all that we'll have lunch at the Wellesley Kirk Community Centre.

I'm wondering if 'The Buggy' could get as far as Jim's Memorial seat.   The path is a bit bumpy in places, due to mole activity a few
a few years ago.   I'll have a turn round on the bike first.                Maggie's Seat and the Chapel Green seats are fine.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
