Bright and breezy ....
18th September 2025 (Thursday) 07.45 .... We have a bright, and very breezy morning,
but the wind isn't as cold as I thought it would be; and it will start to moderate in the early afternoon. It's a good drying day ... and a good day for having my haircut. I might venture down to the harbour when up at Elie today... depends on how windy it is at that time. High tide is at 12.32.
11.30 I've had my haircut, and feel better for having that done. I didn't venture down to the harbour because it was too windy; the wind being F5 - 6 at that time. Back at Ivy I made myself a cuppa, and watched the President leaving Windsor Castle for Chequers. I enjoyed all the 'pomp and ceremony' yesterday, and watched the speeches at the banquet last night.
I googled 'The banquet table' and it came up with the following details (an AI answer): it's called the 'Waterloo Table', is made of Cuban Mahogany, and approximately 164 feet long.... and takes 5 days set up for a banquet. Another thing I did wonder about yesterday was; "why did the Princess of Wales and the First lady, manage to walk across the lawn without their stiletto heels sinking into the ground? I sussed the answer to that, at about 04.00 in the morning; "when wearing stiletto heeled shoes, they walk on their toes". Like I've said before... it's hard work being 'me'.
22.45 I've had an enjoyable day.... always happy after I've had my haircut. In the afternoon I brought in... and ironed the washing while watched the news conference. The President and Mr Starmer came on, did some talking then answered a few questions. It wasn't the most exciting news conference.
They made much of the AI tech deal... and mini nuclear power stations. Actually AI requires loads of
power so maybe the power stations are to power the AI. Anyway the State with all the pomp and pageantry is past, and I enjoyed that.
