Sunny spells .....

13th March 2025 (Thursday)     08.30 .... There's a  mix of cloud and blue sky, so we have a sunny

spell now and again.   There's a light Northerly wind so it cold for this time of the year.   The wind is forecast to moderate in the afternoon, so it should be warmer... especially in places sheltered from, hopefully by then, a light.breeze.

17.15    As forecast the wind had  moderated by late afternoon, unfortunately the sky had also clouded over:  so it wasn't 'sunny and warm' when I went out on the bike ..... as I'd hoped it would be!  It was cloudy and cold, so I only went to Chapel Green;  mostly to exercise my legs, but also to get a few 'today' photos for the Alberto Archive.    I met a few folk out walking. but the best of the weather was long past.   Although grey, and cold, it wasn't raining!

In the morning I'd  done a wee bit of work then  thought 'I'm not in the mood for this';  I'm going to visit Alice.   This was going to be a sort of 'rest day'.   Jackie and Iain are coming down (Auchnagatt), and

Hazel, Steven and Sorley from Inverness.   I should really be in 'flap on' mode;  but I'll do all the 'flappin' tomorrow!   

I meant to only have morrrrrrning coffee with Alice but ended up having lunch.   Izzy dropped in (just back from visiting her family in Canada, so we caught up with all her exciting Canadian family news'.  

22.30    There's a partial eclipse of the moon tonight that I'd hope to see.   Just now the moon is clearly visible through  light cloud, but light rain is forecast overnight so that might change.    Anyway I'll have a look about between 04.00 and 05.00.   I was outside a dew minutes ago  to see how visible the moon was, and actually thought it felt frosty.    However 'light' rain is forecast.

I've made some progress in the bedroom;  I'd call it nearly 'slow and steady'. I'll be in 'major flap on' mode tomorrow.    Right now it's time to make the Horlicks.

Imagine what the world would be like if all the major Leaders were bullies like President Trump;  it would be total chaos.   Actually, when you think about it, if he (President Trump)  continues doing what he is doing just now, he'll mange to create total chaos on his own.   

I keep hoping that we will have peace in Ukraine, but there's now talk of NATO basing nuclear weapons

in Poland to deter Putin.   But that to Putin is Russia's 'Cuban Crisis'.  Remember when the world was on the verge of Nuclear war because the USSR (as Russia was part of  then) was going to base weapons on Cuba in 1962?  The USSR saw sense and backed down.   Maybe... forget 'maybe', it's time the present 'Powers that be'  saw sense and settled for peace not war again!   

Finally;  I never see anybody in that amazing  'viewing sun room' (bottom photo).   I'd have a coffee machine, and appropriate munchies.... then spend most of my day just enjoying the view:  in between  regular sorties 'roond the villages', on the bike. for exercise.  Jealous?   Me?   Definitely!
