Beautuful morning ....

20th March 2025 (Thursday)     10.00 .... We have another lovely morrrrrning, with wall to wall

sunshine, after an early frost and mist.   The sun has burnt most of the mist off, but the 'sooth side' wasn't visible the last time I looked.   I'm washing new single , but I'm doing it anyway.     Lunch is taken care of at the 19th Hole  so I don't have to make much in the way of 'food' today.

11.15    The washing is out;  and the thermometer attached to the shed.    As you can see from the photo we had a light frost overnight.    The Max temperature was the living room yesterday afternoon.

19.30   It's strange the way the wind is behaving just now.   In the morning it's from the SW and warm;  in fact promising a pleasantly warm Spring day.   But no pleasantly warm Spring day for us!... the wind backed towards the East and we ended up 'sunny with a cold breeze off the North sea.    So no biking for this boy today.   But the new sheet, and another couple of white sheets that I found, have been washed and dried in the aforementioned cauld Easterly wind.   In fact they may be ironed tonight when I'm watching the Greece v Scotland  football match.

The 19th was quiet when we were there for lunch today.   I forgot that it was my 'birthday lunch' (I forget how old I will be on Sunday, but it isn't 43).    We celebrate each others birthday as near the actual date as we can, and the 'Troop' with the birthday doesn't pay!   And gets presents.   Today that was me!   All in all it was a really enjoyable lunch.   To finish off the surprise Jackie arrived at the end with a cake;  which I'll have to divide up, and share with the 'girls'.... because....   even I wouldn't think of scoffing a whole cake!

The three of us had Sea Bass with trimmings for mains;  and that was excellent.    A change from "fish 'n chips".   I thought of Barry in Sussex, who went fishing from Pevensey beach for Bass.   And caught one  now and again.   A number of fishermen did that, with their little tent to keep the wind off... and keep the coffee warm.

22.30    I've enjoyed myself today;  and surprised myself at how much I've done.   I'll have a quiet day tomorrow.... and catch up with some proper sleep.

I fell asleep and missed some of the football.... including the  goal!  Scotland won 1 - 0.    By all accounts it's a good result for Scotland;  in fact any win is a good result for Scotland.
