Nice morning ....
16th March 2025 (Sunday) 08.30 .... There's a lot of cloud around this morning, but we also
have big blue patches to give us long sunny spells now and again. I'm hoping the sun will burn off a lot of the clouds to give us long sunny intervals. The actual forecast is 'light cloud with a gentle breeze'. I hear Jackie and Iain working in the tubs; I'd better get a move on. We're not going to bother with Kirkcaldy today; I might go online and 'buy and pick up' in the next few days.20.30 Jackie, Iain, .... I (that's better) have been busy with the patio tubs today.... as you can see.... my trousers are fawin' doon with all the work I've been doin'! What? There's nae watter comin oot o' the waterin' can?
Oops... wrong photograph! Silly boy! "Fake news" has even infiltrated 'The Hutte'!
While Iain and I went to Leven to get another couple of bags of compost, Jackie chose to stay at Ivy to begin began sorting, and planting out the tubs we had, with the bag of compost she bought at Cupar. As usual I 'photographed' my way from The Royal Burgh to Leven .... and back. I shall take photos of the individual tubs over the long hot summer that's coming our way this year.
Iain and Jackie did a power of work planting out the tubs I already had: with my buying a few more tubs.... and plants to brighten up the patio, and attract the bees and other insects. Graham and Angela dropped in while on their afternoon walk. It was great talking to them, mostly about local history, but also about Elie Estate.
Jackie and Iain left for home (Auchnagatt) after lunch; leaving me i/c! I put the kettle 'on' and fell asleep in from of the tele, really tired after all the work I'd been doing. It's brilliant being i/c. I could do anything I want; which usually (in this cauld weather) isn't very much! It's amazing: I've just realised that I'm i/c of 'me' most of the time! That is a major responsibility.... and worry!
22.30 Tomorrow will be a rest kind o' day for 'the Boy'. Jackie stripped the bed so I'll do a canny job....wash some of the bedding. It's going to be another 'light cloud with a gentle breeze day.... but the breeze is going to be from the East so it is going to be cold. Not biking weather. Anyway I'm in a gardening mood, and cutting things with the secateurs seems very gardener like. That's tomorrows 'plan'. Right now I'm having my Horlicks and getting ready for bed. I've just been watching a programme about how a ship called the Ben Lomond was anchored off the Western Isles in 1952 where scientists (from Porton Down) did experiments on biological warfare. Horrifying to think that 'intelligent' people would do such a thing.
