Light rain ....

22nd March 2025 (Saturday)    09.45 .... The rain we had overnight is moving away, and the sky

is beginning to show signs of brightening up;  to leave us with sunny spells and the chance of light rain showers.    The air feels warmer and there's only a light breeze so it could be pleasantly warm:  Definitely not bitterly cold like it was yesterday!   I'm having a quiet day pottering around Ivy.   Monday or Tuesday look like being days when I might get out on the bike.

22.00    It's raining (been out at the bucket),  so I had a look at the forecast "heavy rain tonight" then "cloudy and damp tomorrow".   The wind is going to be from the NE so it will be cold and wet.   Tomorrow is going to be another 'stay in  and stay warm' day.

I didn't go anywhere at all today;  not locally anyway.   I've been to a few places on the computer, doing 'work' on the computer, but it hasn't been the kind of fay for me going out to play.   I got some exercise  by making up the double bed.

On days like yesterday and today I look for something to watch on the TV;  this afternoon I found Scotland V Wales Female 6 Nations Rugby;  but didn't enjoy watching that.    They played the rugby really well but, call me 'old fashioned'... to me, women playing rugby didn't 'look right'.   It's probably an age thing!   I could watch females playing football, but gave up on that when I saw that the female players were now as bad (or good?)  as men at spitting.  Apologies to anyone I might have annoyed.    I think it's good that girls  should play football or rugby;  it's just me that doesn't enjoy watching them doing it.   I'm definitely 'old fashioned';  and I'll be another year 'older fashioned' tomorrow!

I don't have any plan for tomorrow!    My activities depend on what the weather is doing.   It's not supposed to rain tomorrow, but it's probably going to be cold with the wind being from the NE.  However, I might venture up for  paper (in the car) first thing.
As you can see from today's photos I haven't been further than Ivy garden!

I'm having a 'Janice Toddie' before going to bed.... I think I have a cold.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
