Sunny ......

6th March 2025 (Thursday)    08.30 .... We have a 'bright and breezy' morning.... and the sun is to

be with us all day!    There's a cool NW breeze,  and some mist, but it should be be warmer by midday;  when I hope to go biking.   Ferry Road looks naked without the traffic lights!   Actually Ferry Road is quiet this morrrrrrning;  and I don't hear and hammering coming from the different work sites around.  Must be cuppa time!   Then again;  I could be needing a hearing aid!

17.30    My face feels sunburnt after a couple of short runs out on the bike.... and a couple of long rest enjoying the sunshine on seats at Chapel Green.   The sun cream will have to be unearthed soon!
Chapel Green was busy with fold out enjoying the warm sunshine;  but well wrapped up against the wind chill.   With hindsight I'd have taken  flask of coffee up to Maggie's Seat and had afternoon coffee.  Chapel Green was done before lunch!   After lunch.... and a long catnap, I went up to the Pony Field.   I had thought of going to the Breakwater but the bike battery was down to two bars.   That reminds me I need to put it on charge.    I'll do that after this update.

22.30    There's a fully charged battery on the bike and it's to be warmer tomorrow; light cloud with a light breeze' so I might go out on the bike in the afternoon.   Unfortunately the wind is going to 'back ' (against the sun) to the East later tomorrow, so it might be cool with the breeze coming off the water.    I need to go to Leven (shop) and Methil  (annoy Alice) tomorrow, so I'll go out on the bike first thing.... if it isn't too cold.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
