Lovely frosty morning ....

19th March 2025 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... we have a beautiful, frosty Spring morning, with early

frost and,  wall to wall sunshine that will shift the frost.   So nae scrapin' o' the car windscreen this mornin'.  The  frost reminded me that I'd bought a Maximum/Minimum thermometer, at Cupar Garden Centre, so that I'd know how cold it was overnight etc.   I don't know how cold it was outside last night, but I can tell you the the temperature was down to 13.9C in the living room .... where the thermometer is 'stood staunin' on the mantelpiece!    My first mission after breakfast (and when it's warmer) is to fix the thermometer on the North facing wall of the patio shed!  There's a light Westerly breeze just now (that explains why my breathing is good) but the wind is going to back to the Southeast later;  so it's not going to be overly warm on the beach!   I can't see the Sooth side so it's misty.  Being that I'm sitting at the computer it isn't surprising  that I can't see the 'sooth side';  but I have been as far as the pavement, from where I could see the 'sooth side'.... if it wasn't misty.

19.00    Myra and I went to the Colinsburgh Friendship lunch;  as ever the food was excellent and the conversation friendly.   We sat beside the 'Kinneuchar girls' and Lexie.  According to the girls (Robbie ans Sadie) nothing ever happens in Kinneuchar;  and Lexie didn't have much information about Elie either.

Back at Ivy I had a cuppa then fitted the new thermometer onto the patio shed.    The last time I looked at it (in the middle of the afternoon) the temperature was 7.6C.   By then the wind was from the SE so is was cold.  I've just seen the weather forecast and it's to be warmer tomorrow;  but could be cooler along the North Sea coast.    It will be cool on the beach.

22.30    I've had a reasonably active day, but would have been happier if it had been warm enough for me to go out biking.   However at this time of year, we can expect mixed weather;  it could be a few weeks before we get some longer periods of warm weather.

'The Team', Kirsty, Myra and me, are going to the 19th for lunch tomorrow, so that takes care of 'food' tomorrow's food.    Tomorrow is the Spring Equinox  and also the first day of Spring in the Northern hemisphere.   For some obscure reason Spring ends and Summer begins with the Summer Solstice  (20th
June) which happens to be Midsummer Day.  I'll never understand how Summer can begin on Midsummer Day!   Not that I'm overly bothered how it happens to be that way;  as long as we actually have a proper 'Summer' this year!
