Overcast and windy ....
10th March 2025 (Monday) 08.45 .... It's windy but dry....oh .... and it's bitterly cold. There's definitely
some wind chill this morning. The wind is due to moderate by midday and we should get sunny spells in the afternoon, and it should feel warmer. The bike is unlikely to leave the shed today. Actually, this would be a good day for going to a supermarket and browsing the aisles!09.30 The wind is moderating, and the sun breaking through: I'm thinking I might get the bike out after all. I've done a bit of 'ooverin and dustin' this mornin' .... it's time for a cup o' coffee.
19.00 The wind moderated and I was able to go up to Chapel Green about 16.00: which was good because the late afternoon 'light' had a 'romantic'look about it. It was cold but without the wind (and windchill) the cold was bearable. I met one lady out for her afternoon walk, and a few other folk were braving the beach.
I decided to go to 'The Store' in the morning (Anstruther), and have a wander up and down the aisles. A lot of other people were doing the same. The shop was busy! .... but I didn't see anyone I knew. However, I must have enjoyed myself because the trolley was well filled.
Before going to Anstruther I did a small washing (to empty the machine); the plan being to do some of the bedding tomorrow. The weather is a bit mixed for the next few days; and not the best of drying days. Today's washing dried perfectly.
22.30 Tomorrow I am going to make an appointment to have my hair cut; it's beginning to feel like I'm 'growing my own blanket'. And it's going to be another cold day tomorrow. Still I'm feeling 'brave'.... and my hair needs cutting!
That's a horrific accident off the Yorkshire coast. A tanker carrying inflammable jet fuel, hit by a
container ship carrying sodium cyanide: that has the makings of an environmental disaster on an epic scale. They will find out what went wrong and where, but it's shocking that, with all the technology nowadays, that could actually happen. It's unbelievable really! Thankfully there's only one person missing; it could have been so much worse.
