Overcast but dry .....

1st March 2025 (Saturday)     I'll begin by wishing all my friends from Wales a "Happy St David's Day"!   Enjoy your especial day.

09.15 .... I was expecting a bright morning, but the sky is overcast with a cold NW breeze;  but at least it's

fry.   All the Fife Weather cams are showing a cloudy sky, but the Kinghorn cam has promising looking breaks in the sky.  'Sunny intervals with a moderate breeze 'is forecast  by morrrrrning coffee time.   I've been as far as the front gate .... and it is not warm.

20.00    My legs are getting used to being back on the bike again.... but it's going to take a few more days before I attempt a run through Elie Estate.   I took the car up to the shops this morning and the legs were a bit wobbly when walking from the car to the shops:  which is hardly surprising considering it's seven months since I did any regular biking.  Anyway the Doctor said it would be alright to go back on the bike.... as the exercise would be good for me.  I'm a 'happy boy' again.   Of course it all depends on the weather;  which is 'nae bad' just now, albeit cold on the hands.  I did 'The Ferry' this afternoon and will probably do 'The Ferry' again tomorrow afternoon, then go for the 'The Villages' on Monday.

22.00    President Zelensky was much happier looking today, when he arrived in Downing Street.   And the 'purposeful Presidential walk took place on Downing Street and not on the stage inside.   It was all a bit choreographed looking but at least it was friendly, even if it was a bit overdone.   That said, it would be brilliant if tomorrows meeting was the first step towards a lasting peace in Europe.  However I think we're going to have to rely on President Trump and the USA for that step!   
I'm going to visit Alice tomorrow.... the fact that she has been making trifle has nothing to do with this.   Alice needs annoying;  and I'm good at that!   We'll probably do some shopping when I'm along there.   Any biking I do will be later in the afternoon;  after the sun has warmed the air up!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
