Bright and breezy ....

30th March 2025 (Sunday)     09.15 .... It's a lovely Spring morning, but there's a Northwesterly

wind, so it's not very warm, and there's wintry feel to the air.    It will be cool on the beach and golf course, but should turn much warmer, especially where sheltered from the wind.   Actually the wind should  begin moderating around lunch time.  At the moment it's 9.5C.... and a good drying day!    I've had my breakfast.... a cuppa is what I need now.

12.00   The clocks have all been changed, including my watch.   The watch is the trickiest to do.  After that I spent most of the morning Spring cleaning the bathroom with the Superior 'Bathroom Cleaning' stuff I bought the other week.   

The air is much warmer now (13.5C).... and the wind is moderating, so we should have a very pleasant afternoon.  I'm wondering if I should get the bike out after lunch?

21.30    It has been a lovely Spring day, even though the breeze was a bit chilly.   Once the wind dropped it was very pleasant, in fact it was 17.9C on the patio at one point, in the afternoon.  Unfortunately the wind direction meant it was too breezy to sit out and have afternoon tea.  

Later in the afternoon I got the hurdy gurdy oot and walk down to Nana's Seat and enjoyed a relaxing 15 minutes.   The beach was busy, as you'd expect an a lovely day.   There wasn't much happening on the water;  Tom was out on 'Breadwinner';  then the Anstruther RIB appeared travelling fast and making for the cliffs eventually.  Not long after it the Anstruther Lifeboat (The Robert and Catherine Steen') appeared, also heading for the the cliffs.  I say that they were making for the cliffs because when they disappeared  behind Chapel Ness, they were both travelling towards the cliffs.    I have no doubt I'll find out tomorrow where they were going .... and why.

By the time I was back at Ivy the wind had died away to a moderate breeze, and I thought about getting

the bike out, but the breeze was too cold, so I gave up on that plan..... and sorted out today's batch of photographs, before having some food.   After dinner I browsed the TV channels and eventually found Dan Snow (historian) in 'Pompeii' and watched him.

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... All the Fife Weather cams are showing overcast skies.   The Anstruther cam looks the bleakest!..... the Lochgelly the least bleak.  The Easterly breeze has brought the weather in from the North Sea.... and  'sunny spells' are not mentioned in the weather forecast, but ... sometimes the sky looks promising!   It's a good day to be inside.  Luckily I, (and all the other guests), are celebrating Brian and Moira's Golden Wedding Anniversary in the Lindsay Room at Kinneuchar Castle. 10.30     It's still raining, but the sky looks promising now and again;  the sun might break though in the afternoon.  I had a walk round the patio in the light rain; very refreshing.    I'm having morrrrrrrrrrrning coffee before I start to get organised for Kinneuchar Castle. 20.30    We had a really pleasant family and f...

Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

Nice morning .....

4th January 2024 (Saturday)    09.15 .... The car windscreens is clear, the washing I left out Shona huggin' a huge Kilbrackmont tree! overnight is flapping about in the breeze, and my breathing easier.   The sky is mostly cloudy just now, but our weather forecast for today is "sunny intervals with a gentle breeze".    There's a Yellow Warning for snow active from midnight tonight through to midday on Monday;  though I imagine it will more likely be sleet, or rain,  for us.   'Sunny Sussex' and most of the South of England is covered by an Amber Warning for snow today, so most of the UK is likely to see snow at some point over the next few days. 20.00    Although not the best of drying days the washing was nearly dry by the end of the afternoon.   Earlier in the afternoon I'd gone to Methil to annoy Alice.  We had a cuppa before going shopping.  We went to Sainsbury's they have 'everything' and are trying ...
