Lovely morning .....

3rd March 2025 (Monday)    09.00 .... It's a bright and breezy morning with some early morning

mist;  the sun will burn off the mist and we should have a bonnie 'play' day.   Not that I'm going to be out playing today;  I'm in a mild Spring cleaning mood.   I intend doing the spring cleaning in short (very) spells, with loads of tea breaks, and going out on the bike, in the middle of the day.  The biking depends on how breezy it is.  At the moment we have a fresh breeze ... so there is wind chill.

19.30    Although breezy, the air was reasonably warm by midday, when I went biking today.   I did the Chapel Green run, plus a short run up Sea Tangle Rod to get some photos of the cliffs.   My legs were feeling much better:  they were more like my normal biking legs today.  And .... I am feeling  confident and adventurous.   

Depending on the wind tomorrow (it's to be windier than today) I might go for a 'roond the villages' trip.  We had a colourful sunset and that is a sign of good weather.... but much windier.   
I haven't made much progress with the Spring cleaning;  I did the ironing and some tidying up;  but no proper Spring cleaning.   I took a load of photographs and ended up 'playing' with them.   And fell asleep in front of the tele. 

22.30    I may not be going far on the bike, but I am enjoying it;  even being tired at the end of the day is good!    I think what gives me most pleasure is being able to go places with the camera..... and being active.
Unfortunately, although it's going to be sunny tomorrow, we're going to have strong winds, especially in the middle of the day.   I'll see how it is in the early part of the morning.   Tomorrow could be the day when I catch up with the Spring cleaning!

6th October 2024 (Sunday)    "Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary"  to Brian and Moira". 09.00 .... Nice morning ....

16th August 2024 (Friday)  08.30 ...It's a lovely morning but a layer of thin cloud is taking the Jackie. edge off the temperature so we have a chilly start to the day;  hopefully the sun will burn off the cloud to give us a sunny and warm(er) day soon.    The Auchnagatt 'troops' are expected to arrive about 10.30:  and I am organised .... and looking forward to seeing Jackie, Hazel, Catriona and Iain in one photograph.... a rare occurrence nowadays!  20.30 .... I got the photograph that I wanted... all four (soon to be five) of the Lawrie Family of 'Backhill of Inkhorn' (Auchnagatt) in one place!   It has been a most enjoyable day.  We had lunch at the very popular Cupar Garden Centre Restaurant (it was busy) followed by a browse round the garden centre:  the 'troops' did proper browsing:  I had quick browse followed by a catnap in the car.   The middle of the afternoon is my siesta time; and especially so after a good l...

The morning after 'Storm Eowyn' ....

25th  January 2025 (Saturday)     08.30 .....  Well .... that was one frisky wind yesterday Candlelight evening....Unfortunately not a romantic one! afternoon;   from 14.30 to 17.30 it was absolutely ferocious.    And I got some damage at Ivy Cottage;  a ridge tile blew off, slid down the roof and broke the rhone (guttering I thinks it's called now) so that will have to be repaired.  A Red Warning of wind means damage and that's what we have;  not only at Ivy but at other places around Elie and Earlsferry.... and over the whole area of the red Warning.   I only hope no one was injured by stuff being blown around in the wind.    It's the worst wind I have ever experienced in Earlsferry.   I have never felt so useless .... and helpless.    My neighbour Mathew came round to see if I was OK.... which I really appreciated;  I enjoyed talking to him.... it calmed me down a bit.  ...
