Nice morning ....

26th August 2026 (Wednesday)     08.30 .... There's a fair bit of cloud around just now, but the
weather forecast is good;  "sunny intervals with a moderate Easterly breeze", and it's to be warm.   So a nice day ahead.     As long as it doesn't become too hot.

I'm organised for my RSV (Respiratory Syncytial Virus) vaccine...  13.35 at the Randolph Wemyess.   I've just checked the date and it's tomorrow! (27th) .... not today.    'Flap off' ... and the kettle 'on'.

13.15   I've been a lazy boy today;  in fact I fell sound asleep in The Hutte;  but I woke up feeling refreshed so must have been needing it.  Breaking my sleep to take my medicine at 04.00 has been tiring;  not just because I'd to do that, but I kept waking up a couple of times before 04.00 ,so was losing a lot of overnight sleep.      Anyway that's all done with now;  I had my last dose at 10.00 this morning;  and now looking forward to an unbroken nights sleep tonight!

I'm feeling hungry now;  so will make myself a sandwich lunch.   I'm having a Chicken Kyiv  with  trimmings for dinner.   

19.30   We've had a hot and oppressive kind of air most of today, and ir took the 'wind out of my sails';   I couldn't get going at all.   However the air freshened up a bit later in the afternoon, and I brightened up.  A joiner came to put a handrail up in the bathroom and he cheered me up, so, although this has been a 'rest day' and I haven't done very much;  I'm content.

Kirsty phoned to tell me that Myra had stumbled, and fallen up at Elie;  Iain (Paper Shop) took Myra to the Chemist, where they organised further treatment.   David (her son) took her to The Vic (Kirkcaldy) where she was checked over and OK to return home.   Growing old is the easy bit;  it's coping wi' the attachments that come with age that's the hard bit.

Sad News;   I'm totally saddened shocked;  I've just found out that Joyce (Leitch) has died.   My thoughts are with Davie, Shona, Craig and Neil and all the younger members of the Family.   Joyce was a lovely lady and will be sorely missed around Elie and Earlsferry, and by everyone that knew her.  

Joyce was a Colinsburgh lassie, and my first memories of her are from the Colinsburgh school bus
going to the Waid ... er ... not yesterday.  Ian Williamson ('Goosie')  had a friendly nickname for Joyce and would torment her with it every morning.   I can't remember what the nickname was, but Joyce took it all in good fun.... all part of school bus banter.  Yes.... we are missing you Joyce.


Tomorrow I have Randolph Wemyess hospital for my RSV vaccination.   I might have had it done today as the Randolph started a 'Drop In' clinic this week.   However I do have an appointment tomorrow at 13.35, and I assume there will be others  there for the vaccination.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
