Damp ....

25th August 2026 (Tuesday)     09.45 .... After some light rain overnight we have an overcast sky
that is beginning to show signs of breaking up, to give us 'sunny spells'.    There's only a light SE breeze, so a nice enough morning (and afternoon) ahead once the sun does break through;  apart from the wind direction!    

I'm going to do the washing hat I should have done yesterday.  Weather permitting, it should be dry by evening time.   Apart fro the washing, and a wee bit of 'ousework, this is going to be a quiet ,'rest day' for me.

17.30    My 'rest day' hasn't been a completely lazy day;  the washing has been done... and ironed.   But I'd say that I have enjoyed a quiet day;  and I thought the air has been cool today.  It is coming in from the North Sea, so I suppose it should feel cool, especially if the sun is behind clouds;  as it has been most of the time.    Anyway it is to be warmer tomorrow;  but, thankfully, not hot.

I have an appointment at the Randolph Wemyess Hospital tomorrow, so will have another 'rest day'.  visiting Alice;  she lives not far from the Randolph Wemyess.                                                19.45    Both 'Main Wars'  (Iran and Ukraine) are blundering along;   you would think that sometime, in the not too distant future, the senseless killing would stop, and serious Peace talks begin.   Both President Putin and President Trump have got themselves into wars they can't stop.  Meanwhile, innocent people are bearing the brunt of their stupidity.  What a sad state of affairs.
I will take the final dose of throat infection medicine tonight:  I'd hoped it would be at 22.00 tonight, but it looks like there's enough in the bottle to have me getting up at 04.00 to take the final dose.    I have to complete the whole course.

Tomorrow is going to be brighter and warmer;  because it's not going to be as cloudy as it has been

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
