LIght rain ....

16th August 2026 (Sunday)     09.30 .... We have a lovely, cool morning with much needed light
rain:  that said, the farmers that have started the harvest won't be wanting rain just now.    Anyway, light rain we have, along with a comfortable temperature.... and nae dust.   However the sky is brightening up so the light rain might be replaced by sunny spells.

20.00    We ended up with a warm and sunny afternoon.  It has been a day of mixed weather:  we had damp start to the day, and it looks like we could have a damp end to the day, with the sun in the afternoon to keep the holiday makers happy.

Iain did a lot of work when he was here, including prune the Apple tree.   After he set off for home, I had a cuppa, then decided to have a catnap on my bed.   That was a mistake.   The sun was shining and it was hot outside;  and inside with the sun shining in the bedroom window.     I fell sound asleep and woke up....  swea ... er ... perspiring, about three quarters of an hour later.   I hadn't thought about switching the fan on until....I woke up.     It will be 'on' tonight.    And I'll be in bed early tonight.   I'm beginning to think that hot weather of summer  is worse than the cold weather of winter!

I haven't done any 'work' (by 'work' I mean light work nowadays) but have thought about all the things that have happened over the past few days.   I didn't realise that talking to people on the phone would be so tiring;  then again, everything is tiring now.   Am I an 'old man' now?   I think I have to finally admit that I am 'old' .... temporarily!   Anyway, I intend getting back to being the young 'me' again;  'auld' isnae me.  Elderly?    I'll think aboot that!

I'll have a quiet day tomorrow;  I badly need a rest day.   I haven't 'pottered' around Ivy for a few days;  that's what I'll  do!

It feel like it's going to be warm tonight;  'light cloud with a moderate breeze', is the weather forecast for KY9 tomorrow.   The 'moderate breeze' is going round to the Easterly direction in the afternoon.  I don't like an Easterly wind;   but it could be cooler!

Tonight I intend being in bed by 22.00.    The past few nights I've had good intentions but never actually did it!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
