Nice morning ....

17th August 2026 (Monday)      10.30 ..... Although light rain is forecast for KY9, it hasn't arrived yet;  so we have a 'nice' morning.    I can't see the 'Glenfuir' Union Flag at the bottom of the Wynd;  that means the breeze, and the light rain, is coming off the North Sea.   It's warmer than I thought it was going to be;  but, thankfully, not hot!    Actually it was warm in bed last night;  I woke up a couple o' times.... even with the  fan 'on'.   I'll fall asleep at morning coffee time;  if not before.    I keep drifting off sitting in front of the computer.

19.30    Sleep?   I've been sleeping on and off all day:  apparently it's one of the after effects of the pills wearing off.   Tomorrow? ..... I'm looking forward to frolicking around Ivy.

We've had a nice, mostly sunny day, but the rain has moved in, and we could have a wet night.   That takes care of the flower tubs.    The rain should have moved on by morning time, to give us a 'sunny intervals, with a fresh SW breeze' kind of day.    And a cooler one!

I haven't been fit enough to do very much today;  however, I cleaned the bathroom fittings because there's a tradesman coming to heighten the toilet seat.   And I changed the car driving seat back to my legs.   No wonder I've been falling asleep.

This has been a long, not very exciting, day for me;  however, a browse into the Archive and a sail to the May cheered me up a bit.   That said, I'll (hopefully) sleep off the last of the pill side effects tonight.



We have heavy rain at the moment,  and the air is cooler.    I don't think I'll need the fan 'on' tonight.    The 'plan' I had for tomorrow has been changed, because of the tradesman coming.    Anyway my 'plan's are adaptable.

I'm going to have a cuppa after this update.   Actually I'm feeling better now than I have done all day. 
A good, unbroken, night's sleep would be the perfect end to a nondescript  kind o' day.

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
