Nice morning .....

23rd August 2026 (Sunday)    10.15 .... The 'plan' was to go to Methil and annoy Alice this

morning, but I've had a migraine;  so that had to be cancelled.  Funnily enough, apart from the migraine, I feel much better than I have done for a couple of weeks.   I think this means the effects of the pills (Prednisolone)  might have worn off:  they certainly had numerous 'effects'.    The main test will be doing a hard Soduko!  Anyway, I'm feeling almost 'bright eyed and bushy tailed', but this will now be a 'rest day'.

We have a lovely morning here in KY9;  mostly blue sky with a light NW breeze.   A brilliant morning to be walking the Coastal Path.

15.00     The temperature is at 23C on the patio thermometer; so it's too hot to sit out in The Hutte.   It's even warm in Ivy.   I'd set up a hard Soduko to test the brain, but gave up in the heat.   I'll have a go (at the Soduko) when the air is cooler.   Ferry Road has been quiet today;  but I imagine that the beach will be busy.   

22.00    Heather, Ray and Alistair came down in the evening, so we are up to date with each other's 'News'.   They've been getting the 'Cottage' ready for the renovations that will be starting soon.  The job will be finished by March.   Exciting times for them!   They've put in  a lot of work getting the cottage emptied;  but the finished job will the reward for all their hard work.

I've had a lazy day, but.... and this is good news;  I did a hard Soduko today: that means I'm back to normal.

Tomorrow I intend visiting Alice, and do a wee bit of shopping.    Now that I'm feeling better, the 'plan' is to get back into a mair active routine again.   

I'd better go and get myself organised for bed.   Hopefully I should feel even brighter eyed and bushier
tailed' than I was today!   And a good night's sleep will help.   The problem is I have to take medicine every 6 hours;  and that means wakening up at 04.00.

Today's photographs were taken in 2014:  Top - sunrise time on the beach,  Middle - friendly Weasel.   It knew I was there but I'd 'frozen' so it didn't now exactly where I was.   At one point it put it's fore paws on my shoe and looked straight into my eyes;  then went off about it's business - hunting.... and Bottom - Lesser Stag Beetle..

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Dreich ....

1st November 2019 (Friday)       07.00 .... Mmmmm ... it’s cauld and wet Mmmmm .... not the perfect weather for the beach. as per weather forecast;   a real dreich morning.      I am feeling considerably brighter than the weather and looking forward to morning coffee in ‘arbour ‘ouse..... then spending the rest of the day mostly working on the computer, and doing Soduko’s.    I might bake Melting Moments..... baking and sampling 'MM's is always a cheering occupation on a dreich day. 09.00    The sky to the West is showing promising changes in greyness;   could we be in for a few bright spells?    “Light rain showers and a gentle breeze” is the forecast for today.... but a bright spell would be very welcome.    I haven’t been anywhere further than the pavement when manoeuvring the bucket into its ‘ready for emptying’ position.   I’ll have another cuppa then ‘loup’ into the car an...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.
