Quiet morning ....
17th April 2026 (Friday) 09.50 .... We have an overcast sky with la light shower just now, but
it's warm (11.2C) ; and the sky has promising signs of 'sunny spells' now and again. The joggers have been out, and Andy went out with his golf clubs, so all is good at Ferry Road. Me? ..... I've been as far as the thermometer.... and have done some 'ousework. I'm actually feeling playful, but will remain calm and get on with the 'work'. I might go out after morning coffee.15.45 I ser off for Nana's Seat, as I did yesterday, and got as far as Ferry Corner, found that the wind had freshened and it was much colder than expected! I wasn't well wrapped up because I'd been in 'The Hutte'. I might try for Nana's Seat again .... tomorrow!
Actually, it has been a day of mixed weather, quite cloudy with a couple of short spells of light rain. I'm going to make a cuppa and go back out to The Hutte again! The sun is out now and it looks a really bonnie day.... but the wind is chilly.
20.00 It's a lovely evening, bot there's a chilly breeze, d no o Nana's Seat walk today. I've been busy with research, and that is about as tiring as real 'work'. However I've made progress so I'm happy.
The prospect of some kind of Peace in the Middle East is looking more promising with Iran declaring the Strait of Hormuz is fully 'Open'. during the 'ceasefire in Lebanon. Apart from the American blockade of Iranian ports; that stays in place. I winder why that is? Surely, in the interest of Peace that could be lifted too during the 'ceasefire'..... as a friendly gesture!
I've just had some sad News; George (Dod) Gordon has died. He is someone I grew up with.... and we joined the Colinsburgh Rifle Range in the 1950's. I'd just found out from Lorraine (Hairdresser) that 'Dod' was in the Cellardyke Care Home (used to be called 'The Windmill').... I was going to visit him but couldn't because of colds etc., My thoughts are with Hector, George's brother, and George's family and friends.
