Bright and breezy ....

16th April 2026 (Thursday)     09.30 .... It's a bright and breezy morning here in KY9;  with a lot of

April Shower clouds bumbling over from the West.    'Drizzle' is the precipitation mentioned in the forecast.    My word .... I had a brilliant night's sleep last night, right through from midnight to 06.15.    Today will be a quiet day 'working' in 'The Hutte'.    Oops! ....  there someone at the door.  

19.00    Although we've had loads of sunny spells all day, the chilly breeze  spoiled what could have been a really bonnie day.   The cold air didn't bother me because I was in 'The Hutte most of the time:  and I'm happy with progress.
I've  had a visit from 'the cat' again;  and I can tell you it is no lightweight.   I was sitting (in The Hutte) thinking when I heard this awful clatter as something landed on the garden table outside.   I thought it was a stray drone from one of the wars going on just now.   My hearing aids probably made it sound worse than it was!   I didn't have the camera with me,  so didn't get a photo of my feline friend.    There's always tomorrow.   

Apparently there's going to be a 'ceasefire' in Lebanon;  which is at least a step in the right direction!  The chance of more talks in Pakistan, between Iran and USA to continue or extend the present 'ceasefire, are at the 'might happen' stage.   
Wars prove only one thing: that arms manufacturers are making a fortune!  What a waste of money;  money that could be put to better use.

I don't know where all the cars are going that have been going down Ferry Road today:  if they's going to 'moor up' in The Ferry we'll be running out of parking places soon!    This must be the last weekend of the Easter Holiday!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
