Nice morning ....

26th April 2026 (Sunday)     10.00  .... It's a quiet morning;  but that could be because I haven't got my hearing aids in yet!   I'll remedy that immediately!   At the moment ,all cars on Ferry Road are moving under battery power.   That's better;  it isn't as quiet a morning as I thought!

At the moment we have light cloud, but 'sunny intervals with a light breeze' is forecast' to we  should have a  lovely afternoon.

I see on the News that there has been an attempt to get close  to President Trump, ( presumably with the intention of shooting him)by a person with guns ans knives, but, luckily, the potential assailant never actually got into the room the President was in, thanks to the Security   Did the World heave a sigh of relief?   It must be horrible to be so hated that people, even  people in your own country, want rid of you.   Anyway no one died in the incident so it all ended well.

12.45    Iain set  off home at 12.30;  with a car load of recycling for the Ellon Recycling Depot;  including the old 'oover.    I'm going to make a cuppa then go out to 'The Hutte' now that the sun is breaking through.   I need the sun to warm up the 'Hutte' , before siesta time!

7th May 2025 (Wednesday)    08.15 .... "Sunny intervals with a light breeze" is today's weather forecast for.... KY9, Ellon, Uckfield (Sussex) and London:  it's going to be a bonnie day all over the UK.  The breeze is from the Easterly direction so the East coast will be cooler; but it will be warm sheltered from the breeze.   It's a nice, peaceful kind of morning at Elie and Earlsferry:  the sky is a mix of fluffy clouds and blue bits, and the temperature is 11.6C just now.   3.3C was the minimum overnight.  20.30     I'd been reading about the cyber attack on M & S, Harrods and the Co-op... so, feeling inquisitive, for my morning 'mission' I decided to go to The Store (Ainster) and see how the 'attack' was affecting our local 'Store'.   The first thing I noticed was the car park wasn't as busy as normal and all the Disabled spaces were empty.  Inside the store,  the empty vegetable and fruit...

Overcast ....

3rd October 2025 (Friday)     10.30 .... It's a quiet morning; after a lot of overnight rain this is the calm before the storm.... 'Storm Amy', that is going to bring strong winds and heavy rain, this afternoon and Saturday.  It could be a good drying morning!   Anyway all is still at the moment.   I'm going to see if I can rescue a few of the apples that are still attached to the tree.    Actually I think I'll have morning coffee first. 04 12.30    We had a power cut  (45 minutes) last night ,so I unplugged the computer.    We got the torches and candles out, chatted for a while then went to bed.

Windy and wet .....

4th August 2025 (Monday)    08.45 ....  It's breezy with light rain just now;  but the rain is going to move away and the wind freshen to 'gale', with sunny intervals and squally showers, by midday.   There could interesting clouds, and stormy seas.    I won't be going out on the bike!    High tide is at 11.20;  there will be an abundance of fresh air on the beach today.  11.00  The wind is freshening, from the SW, as can be seen in the photo of the 'Glenfuir' flags (Swiss, USA and Jersey).    Sunny intervals are starting to come over, so it's a bonnie enough day now, albeit breezy:  F5 - 6 with stronger gusts now and again. 19.30  It has certainly been a wild old day, but the wind is moderating, and tomorrow will be much quieter.   It was F8 - 9 at times out on the bay.   Which is why HMS Iron Duke (Type 23 frigate) is sheltering off Elie and Earlsferry.      HMS Iro...
